The older I get, the more my life goals become “make enough money doing something creative to become a hermit in the woods; adopt dogs and die alone.”

I don’t chase anyone anymore. Wanna walk out of my life, there’s the door. Hell, I’ll even hold it for you.

You turn to me and ask, “do you ever think about suicide?” I look away from you and close my eyes, eat the raspberries, to confuse the blood in my mouth.

The hardest thing about depression is that it is addictive. It begins to feel uncomfortable not to be depressed. You feel guilty for feeling happy.

Be yourself. Be boldly, fiercely, unapologetically yourself. Do not build from what you imagine other people to be. Do not mirror their actions, do not attempt to mimick their likes and dislikes. Wear your own clothes and be eager about your own desires. Take up your own space and fill it with things that are meant to do no more than to please your own soul.
