As for the finale itself, It feels very 50/50 for me. I agree with a lot of the stuff I've seen people say online like a majority of the runtime being dedicated to Jax and leaving the other characters out, and I also agree that the show would've benefit from a few more episodes. I know Gooseworx is probably so tired of this project and wants to get it over and done with but I do believe 3 or so more episodes would've done a bit more for it.

When Jax abstracted I didn't even realize it was him to be honest lol, I thought it was gonna be what everyone assumed with the abstracted getting out, wasn't until Gangle said "Why can't I cry for him" that I picked up on it, or maybe I just don't pay attention well enough idk. I don't mind how sudden it was though, we'd already seen what the verge of abstraction looked like and it would've been a bit repetitive to show that again before he finally caved in. Also the scene with Ragatha and Pomni walking away was a bit too long and awkward, it had me thinking it was about to cut to her after abstracting but nope. It felt like the kind of awkwardness of walking in the same direction after ending a conversation, except they're walking in opposite directions and won't stop saying "bye" to one another lmao.

I did like the scenes of how Jax sees the others, Gangle's in particular made me incredibly uncomfortable and the animation for Zooble's was very well done, I loved it a lot. I liked that Caine and Kinger weren't particularly featured or had their own scenes because Jax likely doesn't give a shit about them. I also feel like Ribbit's flashback was a bit too long, like you could cut out a few scenes and it wouldn't change much, but a lot of them were really well done and I loved them nonetheless.

I will give credit that Jax's backstory hit with me, even if it's the sorta cliche "My parents sucked +I (mightve) killed one of them", which is not what I was expecting from her character but go off girl you kill your shitty mom, but also fuck you for gaslighting your best friend and pushing them to suicide that's not cool.

The montage of Jax's memories I feel would've benefit from either 3D renders or short animated clips of his other memories with Ribbit or Ragatha or Pomni, instead of just clips of previous episodes with a filter, plus I feel it would've shown us things that happened offscreen like unseen adventures or other moments.

As mentioned that one scene of Gangle looking at the tent made me feel bad for her (totally not favoritism bias), she basically watched her friends hold a memorial for someone that abused her. Only change I wish was made is Zooble showing some form of resentment about having to help build it, or even sitting on the sidelines to comfort Gangle while everyone set it up themselves. It would've felt more in-character to me atleast.

Caine coming back was something I wasn't expecting whatsoever and I don't mind it, though I wish it was written a bit differently in some way. Like maybe a lot more time passes before he shows his face again, or he still struggles with the Blue AI's influence and slowly learns how to combat it, either it be by himself or help from the others. I do love everything else with his side of the plot though, when he started running I lost my shit (once again totally not favoritism bias).

And for the final scene, I didn't mention it but when Kinger brought up the brainscans I for some reason assumed their real bodies were rotting in a building somewhere lol, but no they're just thriving outside in the real world. I don't mind the fact this is what became of their true bodies, though I do wish some of them didn't get a "perfect ending", not a bad ending specifically, but just a reading of living a completely average life would've been fine aswell. Also I wish everyone got to read their own profiles aloud, would've been more impactful than Pomni reading all of them. Part of me wished instead of Caine showing this to them, he'd instead keep it to himself probably knowing that seeing your real self THRIVING somewhere in the real world would likely make you upset, I know that defeats the purpose of his "No more secrets" line but I wished he'd have atleast hesitate with the idea.

Anyway that's all I have to say about the finale really, I do have lots of thoughts and such on my own about the messaging and the scenes and whatnot, but I'll keep those to myself probably.

TLDR; Overall the finale was alright, I didn't hate it and I didn't exactly love it, I feel it could've benefit from several improvements or even minor changes to its story, and ofc anyone who either loved or hated the finale is completely valid to their opinions.

Side note; I somehow avoided spoilers the moment I heard the leaks were out, hope a majority managed to do the same before seeing it.

Despite my feelings on the finale, I've been following this series since word first got out about it and I'm glad I stuck around to see it to its completion, even if following along came with a lot of chaos and the risks of being called one of "those" fans. I don't regret enjoying the series and I adore seeing all the nicer content surrounding it. The animation was beautiful and I'm glad to see how much it's broken the ice in regards to indie animation, I hope someday I can get just as hyped for a series again.

For the Ep8 stuff, I've been mourning Caine pretty heavily- his other fans help me cope ;A; (Same with the Recycle Bin theory) HES IN THERE GUYS I SWEAR HES OKAY HES GONNA BE OKAY HES ALIVE PLEA

Also I'm a firm Jax hater but I won't lie when his skinning scene made be feel ill, and a little terrible for him.. only a little though.

The other characters are cool too, Rattie's gotta be my favorite due to her design inspo

Anyway not much else to say, nearly cried like 5 times during that episode and still won't shut up about it, yes I'll definitely draw God Caine whenever I get around to it

That's about it I think, might make more casual posts leading up to Ep9's theater release before going offline for a while but no promises

As for current TADC news- Very hyped for Ep9, but I'm very much gonna be part of the "Avoid Social Media for 2 Weeks" crowd when it releases (Wishing for a great time for all those going to theaters and 0 Spoilers for anyone who isn't.. aka me ;<;)

Anyway this is featuring my headcanon Caine design, not much is changed though I do like the idea of him flip-flopping between long lanky weirdo and short n' stupid goober depending on the context (apsolutely love this dumb nonexistent guy)

I actually have a slightly older version of the design, all I did was fix his colors and the way his suit tails(?) look (which for some reason I struggle to draw), sadly the only evidence of that I have is a sketch-turned-drawing that may or may not see the light of Tumblr but euh

Anyway uhh as for the art itself- Like I said I based it off a song by a music artist on YouTube cause I realized it fits Caine pretty well (if you like music that uses SynthV singers I recommend it), had the idea bouncing around I my head for like a month and decided to actually commit to it

I'm still learning how to render my art on Ibis Paint (which I haven't done in years since I last used it) but I think I did okay? It's not terrible and I don't hate it so :V

This isn't a style I normally work with but I wanted them to resemble the original emotion depictions with the softer shading n details, I strictly used the 3d models of the characters for the colors and shading aswell, and I think they turned out alright (I'm very proud of Pomni and Zooble especially :] )

I did have to alter some things to better fit the identity of the characters (Ragatha is a big example of this) but that's about it

Shout out to Gooseworx for creating the Blue_Channel: Thalasin (Happy 5 years to that), and TADC

Anyway that's all, I finished my Headcanon designs but idk when I'll share those yet, and I might cook up some stuff for February but don't expect much (I'm hyperfixating on my OCs atm) other than that, have a great day!!

For starters, we have none other than Pomni! Full of anxiety and mischievous intent, she cannot be stopped. Also known as "The 3 Gs" which stands for "Goober, Gremlin, and Girlboss", and a secret 4th G that stands for "GETMEOUTOFHEREGETMEOUTIWANTOUTPLEEEEAAASE"

I didn't change much of her original design other than giving her ruffles (still learning how to draw those) and leg warmers/longer gloves, I just think they're neat. Her eyes are also stylized cause I struggle making her original ones look good. Other than that, I don't have much to headcanon about her mentally, she's a neat character though, 10/10

And second we have Jax!

That fuckin rabbit that I hate.. /j

I could go on about this apsolute menace to the circus but I'll save that for a later day, just know I have a love hate relationship with this man. He's the second TADC character I've designed back when Ep 6 came out, and has a few quirks

I made him pretty fluffy and gave him those wacky rabbit whiskers, and made his overalls to match Ragatha whenever I give her a proper design (with the buttons and the stitches) More importantly though, he has "eyelashes", which I originally added as a jab to his fragile masculinity (I imagine he hates them) and to play with the "cartoon guy character has eyelashes" thing, but now I imagine they popped up shortly after Ribbit abstracted, like how his tail popped up out of nowhere.

Anyway uhh that's all really lol, I'm working on more art stuff slowly but surely. I'll make sure to share the rest of the character's designs in one big post when I finish them, it will take a while though so bare with me ;v;
