Do you have any advice for learning to be more loose and free with art? I love how fun and squiggly your art gets sometimes, I fall in love with it everytime it comes across my dash ;w;

i remember a few years ago feeling that my art was too stiff bc i kept trying to focus on making the proportions good and so i didn’t let myself loosen up. i think it’s good to keep in mind some rules on proportions whilst you draw, for example how long should the thigh in relation to the torso, where is the elbow supposed to end in relation to the torso and where the hand ends in relation to the thigh (these are the three main things i think when i draw). keeping this in mind as you draw will help you loosen up because if you know these rules you can let yourself focus on just enjoying drawing and your lines will become more loose with practice. at least this is what worked with me!!

it also really helped to look at loads of art and think what it was i liked about it, how could i incorporate that but make it fit my style (whatever my style seemed to be at the time!) also sometimes i would just do squiggly lines and make characters out of them or draw a character as squiggly as my hand felt like it and then tone it down to a degree i was happier with.

also an essential piece of advice is,, HAVE FUN!!!!

Ok KO Let‘s Be Heroes! Is a show that’s very dear to my heart for many reasons. It hurts a little to see it cancelled so soon, but I feel like the show got brilliant closure with the stellar final episodes and the team’s openness about the whole ordeal. I’m going to continue making fan art for this show for years to come! The characters are amazingly fitting for my style and I love drawing them with all of my heart. Hope you all enjoy the art I’ve got to contribute to the fan base for this amazing show! This is just a small piece I did of Mikayla over the weekend to use as a new background for my tablet.

INKTOBER DAY 1: CRISP AIR
