Firstly, being swallowed by a sarlacc pit and finding out no one in the entire galaxy cared that you died might make you take a step back and rethink your life. Secondly, you don’t think the boy who at 10 years old watched his father be beheaded, who at 11 years old was thrown into adult prison, and who was raised by several shady bounty hunters who never loved him and only cared about his status as Jango’s son, wouldn’t be fundamentally changed after being taken in by the Tuskens? They where a tribe, a family, who reminded Boba of both the childhood he lost and the morals his father wanted him to embody.

As Fennec says; living with the Tuskens made Boba soft. And I say let him! His playful and softer nature was probably always there underneath the surface, but he had to hide it beneath a tough facade after his family, his childhood and all the love and security in his life was violently ripped away in a heartbeat. He didn’t feel safe enough to be vulnerable until now.

I think it’s beautiful that he gets a chance to heal, even if his newfound family also gets taken from him too soon. That’s probably why he decides to take over as Daimyo on Tatooine. The galaxy never cared for someone like him, and he’s sick of it. Boba decides that he will look out for the outsiders in society, the people others deem to dangerous, strange and difficult, and give them a place to call home.

He will build a family, a tribe, in true Mandalorian fashion, making his long dead father proud.

Let's imagine that Palpatine calculates his plan a bit differently and starts the Clone Wars about ten years earlier, just after the Naboo invasion. You end up with a young grieving Obi-Wan attempting to run a battalion and raise a precocious child at the same time.

Enter the 212th's competent, attractive Commander who is the only thing making Obi-Wan's life easier at the moment. Cody is a bit horrified at having a nine year old on their battle ship, but he does his best to help Obi-Wan create some structure and safety in Anakin's life. All of the clones enjoy having the little rascal around and are happy to watch Anakin while Cody and Obi-Wan do their evening paperwork. (If those paperwork sessions eventually become more like paperwork dates, well, no one's the wiser.) Anakin gets some sense of what healthy non-attached relationships look like through Cody and Obi-Wan's fumbling romance, so he doesn't end up eloping later in life. He's also relatively isolated from Palpatine's influence due to being stuck with Obi-Wan on the frontlines.

I'm sure that Anakin gets in several arguments with Obi-Wan and Cody about how useful he could be on the battlefield during the war if they just let him participate. I really enjoy the idea of Anakin yelling "You can't tell me what to do! You're not my dad! I've never had a dad!" at Cody.

A friend found an AO3 fic in which the writer had posted one of my images (ARC Trooper Wooley) without my permission and without crediting me, and then, @brokenphoenix99 noticed that the same account has a bunch of images by other artists, as well. I'm certain that they're all just as stolen as my image was, so we decided to track down the artists and let them know. That way, they can report them on AO3, comment on the fics and tell the thief to take them down, or ignore it.

We've found all of the artists except whoever made the images above (note the 'art found on pinterest' **credit** on the top one 🙄🙄🙄), and I can't make out the signature on the bottom one.

It was originally by dibos but it seems that they deactivated some time ago.

The best part about having friends who also grew up with TCW is you can draw stuff like this for their birthday :3
