Since Tamamo is “some pretty fuckin’ important lore” in Japan (part of the three terrible youkai), i’d think ZUN would reserve a character like that for a Mastermind of a new plot (Boss 6).

Do you remember that post with Cinderella where her dress changes to the color of your blog?

She’s actually quite easy to relate to because of her constant failures. That was actually the whole point of WaHH according to a jokey response ZUN gave in the print works interview. She a deeply flawed character who’s driven by incredibly human appetities like greed and laziness, without displaying much in the way of malice. She doesn’t like her job much but is proud when she does it right, or when people rely on her. I feel like these attitudes are actually quite easy to relate to.

I also think it’s important to reiterate that she’s rarely malicious (although she can be petty). She’s just sort of the embodiment of someone just trying to get by.
