Thinking about how fluttershy deserves to be beautiful and wild and a little unsettling. In the sense that other ponies dont understand her— a pegasus who lives on the ground; in forests with the bugs and beasts; always covered in moss and butterflies and with sticks in her mane.

A strange, lanky pony who flees from anypony that comes near her. But, sometimes you can hear the enchanting melody of her songs at the edge of the forest. And maybe if youre kind enough to the bunnies and the squirrels, they wont run when you hide behind the bushes, sneaking a peek at the kind pegasus that cares for them.

havent done an art blurb in a while but. here goes.

theres a terrible feeling that i get sometimes when i see the people around me being self destructive in ways that i cant prevent. seeing them hurt themselves over and over again, and not understanding why they would ever do that, but also knowing that its not my place to stop it. as much as i can extend kind words and sympathies and alternate routes, i cannot move them along a different path. i cant keep trying to control people, even if i think its better for them in the long term. its their mistakes to make, and sometimes i just have to let them make them.

ive been thinking a lot about how i can be a better person and friend to the people around me. and i think that part of that is acknowledging that they are individuals, and as much as it hurts to say, that means that sometimes i have to let them suffer. i will still always be there to help them when they ask for it, always be there to provide love and comfort and laughter. but i cant keep giving that help when they dont want it.

but as much as thats true, i will also never stop feeling that pain. i will never stop feeling sick to my stomach when i watch them destroy themselves. i will never stop hearing that screaming in my head:

This one is definitely a little bit different than any of my other portraits. I think its the only one that I’ve ever properly taken the time to sketch out in Full detail beforehand.

I think you can definitely tell that my style has become a little bit clearer since the last one. And ESPECIALLY since the first one. Definitely a weird experience to be able to look back on my earlier portraits and see visible differences in my style haha.

was feeling a bit eugh and Love Like You started playing. so obviously i needed to draw something with it & MM is haunting me as of late soooo yeah

honestly i was kinda torn on what way to do this one. because i think it does make more sense for Homura to be the one wanting to learn to love like Madoka? but the Madoka kinnie in me wanted it the other way around so. thus this was born.

As someone who loves very similarly to Madoka (very idealistic and open with their love/affection), I often find myself wishing that I was a bit more reserved with my affection. It’s not so much that I don’t like showing my care for people/things, but rather the lack of control that I have when it comes to it. So, I guess this is basically just me projecting onto Madoka a bit haha
