OKAY STORYTIME!!!!!!!

So it’s a few weeks before my birthday and witch hat is continuing to drive me happily insane (and inspired) and OF COURSE shirahama creates the most beautiful collection so I message our local bookstore a little:

“hi! may I ask if you will be carrying the witch hat grimoires by any chance? if ever, would you be open to pre-orders? :,>”

And they say yes they are and OH MY GOD THEYRE GONNA HAVE IT AAAAAA AND O H it’ll take 2-3 months? NO BIGGIE MA’AM I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO WAIT WEEEEE

SO two days later, I head to the bookstore and YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT

Me: hi po! hehe is this where we pay for pre-orders?

[let’s call them—!] The GOAT: yes po! for what book ma’am?

Me: the witch hat atelier grimoire! hihi

The GOAT:

Their fellow staff: *gives me the biggest smile while they excuse themselves for a second*

Me: omg what’s happening

The GOAT, grinning: About that… *holds up the grimoire*

Me: OH MY GOD

The GOAT: IT JUST ARRIVED TODAY

Me: NO WAY NO WAY NO WAYYYYY AAAAA WE WERE LITERALLY JUST MESSAGING ABOUT IT

Everyone behind the counter: *laughing*

The GOAT: do you want me to wrap it so it’s protected?

Me: for free?

The GOAT: of course!

Me, emotional: THANK YOUUUU (ू˃̣̣̣̣̣̣︿˂̣̣̣̣̣̣ ू)

Then we proceed to go near the counter where I find not one, not two, but TWO WHOLE BASKETS OF FRESHLY DELIVERED MAJESTIC GRIMOIRES WITH BEAUTIFUL SWEET DAUGHTER COCOOOOOOO AAAAA and they ask me if I want to pick one and I say omg can you pick for me please and we then FREAK OUT BECAUSE THEY LIKE WITCH HAT TOO AND—

Okay we stop because they gotta wrap the book HAHA so I walk around for a bit (totally not still internally geeking out) and a few minutes later we make eye contact and it’s Ready and I come over to pay and they ask me if I have their bookstore card which I DON’T UNFORTUNATELY BUT IT’S OKAY ADVANCED HAPPY BIRTHDAY YIPPEE

But THEN!!!!!!

The GOAT, hearing all of this and talking to the cashier: *taps their card* here give her a discount

Me: WH—

Me, about to burst into tears: WHAT WHY HOW HUH AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Me: OH MY GOD (๑˃̥̩̥̥̥̥̆ಐ˂̩̩̥̥̩̥̆৭) THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU THANK YOU SO MCUH THANK U I—! *incoherent SOBBING*

SEVERAL emotional sentences later they give me the (very carefully wrapped) book and I ask who their favorite character is and they say it’s Qifrey and I say OMG ME TOO and then we spend SOME MORE minutes geeking out over WHA and slowly start to say good bye when the GOAT THEMSELF stops me and raises his fist

WE SHARE THE FIST BUMP EVER ლ(ٱ٥ٱლ) AND I GO HOME WITH A GRIMOIRE AND A MISSION

And BAM THUS BOOKSHOP QIFREY ART (and a VERY happy magical unforgettable U NAME IT birthday moment) WAS BORN!!!!
