Marriage was never something Vivian had ever even considered. She was the opposite of Knox in that respect. Sure sheâd had a string of boyfriends, but none had every amounted to anything over than a broken hard. Meanwhile her brother seemed to crave that type of relationship - although admittedly his attempts werenât always successful. âDo I really strike you as the settling down type, Knox?â she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. âIâm married to work, and thatâs really all I need to be to be successful.â Maybe itâd be nice to feel looked after, but it wasnât necessary. Although if she was honest, she was enjoying whatever was going on with Harry. She couldnât let anything like that on though. âIf they do exist, itâs hardly going to be in Frostford. The calibre of the men here is decidedly low. I donât think any of them would know how to compete with my working hours either.â
It was a foreign concept to him, that anyone would not want to settle down. Perhaps it was the way their parents had practically beaten it into his head from a young age, but there wasnât much Knox wanted more. But maybe his sister was right, and it wasnât in the cards for her. Heâd heard rumors that not everyone was the marrying type, but if anything that was bad for Vivâs business. He shrugged, moving to settle back in the pool chair. âYou deserve to be happy. Maybe you should let yourself. That is all I have to say about it. If you are truly happy alone, then I have no problem with it either way.â And that was true; all he cared was that Vivian was content. âThat is true. But the city isnât terribly far, surely there could be a catch or two there. And it would make them conveniently located for work. A nice lunch date or plus one for work affair,â he suggested.
