Advice to college students?
Gain connections - try to join clubs to help out your comfort zone, especially if u have bad anxiety like I do and help gain some people u can be around and be close to, also help gain networking/communication, don’t be afraid to be a teachers pet either. If u cool with the professor, you can ask them for help and help u get a job
Don’t overexert yourself - take as many classes as YOU CAN. College is not a race. PLS do not try to take 6 classes knowing you can only handle 2-3 classes. You are not a failure if u graduate a semester later or even 2-3 years later. Go at your own pace. At the end of the day it’s your education. Do as you please.
Check with your mental health - if college is getting to stressful or you are stressed the fuck out, take a break or a yr off before you actually continue or are thinking about going. So when u go u are refreshed and prepared and actually feel better about going.
Save your money - buy books on rental sites so it’s cheaper. Or try to find the pdf version online. If not, see if they have the book in the library. Then u can copy the pages in the library and use those instead of eating ur money on a book u probably not gonna rlly use. Also, find programs to apply to so u don’t hate to pay for your books. They will instead.
Community college is OKAY - Don’t feel bad about going to a community college. You are just as great and can even be better than those that go to universities. At the end of the your experience is what you make it to be and it’s your choice and YOUR MONEY. So be wise. If anything, just transfer to a uni during your second yr that way you’ll cut your tuition price in half and won’t have as many loans.
Worry about yourself - if you feel lonely, go back to the first point. Also, everyone is just there to make there cut. Don’t feel bad bc threes plenty of people in college like you! Focus on your work and getting it done
