What I love most about this is that this person was SO INCENSED at the recipient that they couldn’t even wait the days/weeks it would take for the mail to go through. No, they had to say “FUCK YOU” as soon as fucking possible and, AND, let the recipient that they were not done with the fuck you, nay, this was merely the first volley in what would undoubtably be a dressing down of Biblical proportions.

OP probably deactivated because they were getting sick of people pointing out that this was in no way a real telegram, or from the 1800s–there’s no information filled out in the top, which would have been needed to indicate where and when the telegram was sent from and to whom it was being sent (making it being ‘anon’ highly difficult); telegrams did not have line breaks; telegrams were typewritten at best, and could also have been hand-written, but definitely weren’t cleanly typeset; the typeface used for the text (Futura) of this wasn’t released until 1927

But! There were novelty fake telegrams made, as fun (or sweet) little gag gift kinds of things, in the early 20th century. There’s one that shows up a lot on Tumblr, written as a vaguely threatening message about another woman, so there is indeed a long tradition of fake humorous telegrams, and this can be enjoyed that way.

Do you know what these are? They’re 1940s memes!

But they are not and were not ever actual messages, not printed so nice'n'clean (and in matching ink) like that.

Now, go forth and be fooled no more, and laugh along with them instead of at them.
