It’s just really fascinating that the second BTS fucks up all the forums and gcs go practically silent, but the few posts that are being made are jumping through hoops to defend them. Just FYI it’s really easy to not associate with a known abuser, and it’s 100% the right feeling to be disappointed and upset with them for being in support of That Man even if it’s just about his music. You cannot separate art from the artist in this case, because they literally paid for and went to his concert, and then were all smiley taking a photo with him back stage. This situation is gross, and it feels gross, and it feels incredibly disappointing and i really hope they make some kind of statement acknowledging it. I don’t know if that will ever take away the feeling it’s bringing on, but I’d like to see them at least acknowledge it instead of trying to cover it up or pretend they did nothing wrong / were ignorant. And just FYI I can 100% confirm that people in Korea also got the same news the west did about CB when it first broke that he almost beat Rihanna to death. Korea isn’t entirely cut off from the world and idols aren’t entirely ignorant, and we need to stop acting like Korea is in another reality as an excuse for idols poor behaviour.
And the last thing I’ll say for now on this matter: yes, it’s especially disappointing that Namjoon discusses feminism and chooses to recommend books on the subject among other things, but still went to the concert. Feels contradictory and confusing. Yeah that’s all I have to say.
