let's talk about stolas for a minute.
the fandom likes to reduce him to the horny bird man but I think we are missing a key aspect to his character.
In his song to Via, he says "I thought love would be fun."
We also see that his wife is using all the blankets in their bed and refuses to get up even tho their daughter is crying and frightened.
I think that his marriage to Stella was arranged. She probably came from a powerful family and he was expected to marry her and have children out of duty.
This is definitely hinted at on the instagram pages when blitz (sneaking around the palace) finds an odd poster somewhere that says "Do it for Egg".
Stolas essentially confirms it is from before Via was born.
This suggests that Stolas and Stella were under pressure to conceive an heir. Perhaps they had fertility issues or they simply were so distant with each other that the mechanisms of making a kid weren't on their radar.
Either way stolas clearly took the role of being a father very seriously and loves his daughter very much.
I don't want to say too much about Stella since we don't know her that well yet, but it seems like she is obsessed with status and doesn't really care about her child much.
Her rage at Stolas's affair with blitz was less about the sex itself and more about it being with someone from Hell's lowest caste system.
Anyway. If we put all this information together, we get a picture of stolas that is immensely different than the horny bird man we first met.
We see someone who has spent his whole life doing what was expected of him.
never falling in love or enjoying things just because.
That would explain why he's so ridiculous around blitz. He's essentially a teenager who is in love for the first time.
He has no idea how to act so he's ridiculously flirty and invites blitz to everything because he just wants to be with him all the time.
In a kinda fucked up way, him inviting blitz to loo loo land with Via was like when a parent wants to introduce their child to the new boyfriend.
But this episode was actually a good lesson for Stolas. It reminded him that he's not some horny high school kid with his first crush.
He's an adult with duties and a child. Those still need to come first.
I think his relationship with blitz will continue and will probably evolve into something quite beautiful.
But first Stolas needs to work things out with his family. And blitz needs to work on the barriers he puts up against emotional intimacy to avoid being hurt.
