Summary: A canon-divergence set after Killian and Emma return to Rumpelstiltskin’s castle, an expanded epic Captain Swan adventure. Killian and Emma must work to break a new curse, one with an unsettling timeline, and align themselves with friends and foes alike.

Killian, in his long and dangerous life, on sea and shore in realms of unimaginably dangerous magic, was almost accustomed to the feeling of drowning. The all encompassing pressure, the buoyant ebb and flow as control was seized from his grasp, the clawing ache in his chest as the world pressed unyieldingly down around him. It was strangely comforting in its cold familiarity and he embraced it now. He relaxed into it, let the current take him, and opened his eyes to vibrant summer green.

“Killian,” Emma whispered.

Her fingers pressed harder into his cheek, in relief or possibly annoyance. He licked his lips, tasting the lingering bitter herbs there and took in a shuddering breath.

“Swan.”

I’m hoping they’re going for a Neal/Emma dynamic with Henry and Jacinda/Lucy. First loves who have a child together - but aren’t destined to be together forever.

I think her relationship with the mad witch is very much on a par with Hook’s relationship with Cora.

Her desire for revenge on her mother for the way she treats her is becoming more and more apparent - and she’s willing to deal with whomever to get it.

I thought the final scene when she asked the witch to call her Drizella not Ivy reminded me a lot of the scene with Hook, Regina and her guards when Hook said “Slave?, I prefer Captain”.

Every so often a hint of her fragility shows through - there’s still a bit of a nice Ivy in there somewhere.

The more of see of her and Henry, the more I hope there are end game and that he will be her chance to turn back to the light side.

Anyone else think it’s possible?

So…there’s been this thing in the CS fandom that no matter the realm, no matter the time, that Emma and Hook will always love one another. I’m not sure where it started, but for it time it seemed that way because Past!Hook was drawn to Emma, Deckhand Hook openly admitted his jealousy of the CS relationship, etc. And, you know, it’s a very romantic notion that many people latched onto. So I can get why they wouldn’t want to let it go. Not everyone multi-ships. Not everyone deals in non-canon ships. And not everyone can let go easily.

What we know to be true (as true as it can be on OUAT)

Wish World exists up to Emma Swan’s current age when she casts her wish. Around 31/32. She’s the same age in both realms.

Her wish is to have never have been the Saviour so there’s no Dark Curse cast. 

There are Wish duplicates of everybody else who exists in Storybrook also aged the 28 years they were never frozen.

There is no alliance between Hook and Cora, he never needed to go to Storybrook, so Hook isn’t frozen.  He therefore is at least 28 years older than the one in current Storybrook (Let’s say he’s now around 60.) 

The Evil Queen is defeated she no longer exists in Wish World.  She only exists once the Evil Queen chooses to return to Wish World to meet up with Wish World Robin again.

When Emma and Regina meet Robin they take him back to Storybrook - he now exists in the real world (not sure why he’s still young!).  

Wish World characters exist once they leave it. Snow and David never left Wish World. So they never existed.

In Storybrook Regina and Robin did not fall in love.  He wasn’t her Robin. He never would be.  She felt nothing when she kissed him.

Wish Hook has now travelled many realms looking for Swan because he thought she might be the key to helping him find love and to find and free his daughter - born in the 28 years since the curse was never cast to mother unknown - so she’s probably in her early 20′s now.  In crossing realms he becomes real - just like Robin. Just like Robin wasn’t Regina’s Robin, Hook is not Emma’s Hook. It’s unlikely he ever will be. He’s really 28 years older than her, made young again by Lady Tremaine. Real Hook and Emma are happy at home in Storybrook.

I’m done with season 7.

The end of CS was inevitable after Jen resigned. After the initial shock of it, I’ve comes to terms with it. With Colin staying on it would have been such a waste of his acting talents and charisma to give him a completely loveless future. That man’s kisses melt my heart.

I’m actually pleased we get a new Hook with a new background and the potential for a new and different love. It won’t be CaptainSwan, true, but it might be good. This is Henry’s book, not Emma and Hooks. I’m treating this like Pirates of the Caribbean or Star Wars - the next installment with different stories. I’m in it for the long haul and hope you change your mind.

Okay. We got Cinderella and a step-sister. Only one.

Missing sister is usually named Anastasia.

We got Wish Realm Hook with a history with Lady Tremaine.

We got chess pieces, associated with Through the Looking Glass.

We got Alice in Hyperion Heights.

OUAT in Wonderland gave the Red Queen from Through the Looking Glass the name Anastasia. Now, that Alice is not this Alice… but seeing as Wonderland is a realm unto itself, the Wonderland of OUAT in Wonderland, the first six seasons of OUAT and this season’s Wonderland should all be the same. There are likely multiple Alices, however, one from each storybook realm, that has visited that land. So different Alice… Same Wonderland.

Which means there should still be an Anastasia in Wonderland, one who was the Red Queen but is now the White Queen, one without a father (as is my understanding of the spin-off) and one that fandom often speculates is a step-sister of Cinderella’s.

Anastasia is Rogers’ daughter. She’s also the missing step-sister.

Jen left. The CaptainSwan movie of a lifetime ended with a happy ending. The show had a major reboot - Colin thankfully stayed and we needed a way to use the stunning actor without destroying the wonderful CaptainSwan legacy.

Storybrooke was never Regina’s happy ending. Hyperion Heights is hopefully is her happy beginning.

Am I the only person in the fandom who thinks that the characters make OUAT?It’s the fairytale love stories that we fall in love with and I think it’s their characters and stories that live on - not just the actors that play them.

Truly great characters live through generations/centuries.  If we want CaptainSwan to live on - why can’t we have a new actor playing Swan? And perish the thought, if Colin left, a new actor playing Hook?

  We could have as part of this current curse that Emma is separated from Killian and doomed to be a Swan (nothing new here). Killian finally kisses her head and she returns to human form.  Just not the form he’s used to seeing. Surprise, surprise. That was the kicker of the curse - if he broke the curse, he’d never “see” his Swan again. She’s gonna look the new way she looks from hereon in.

The new one could be anything the producers want - blond, redhead, brunette. She has to retain sass, beautiful expressive eyes and be badass. And Killian will love her no matter how she looks.

It goes without saying she’d have to have chemistry with Colin (but let’s face it when he turns on a smoulder it looks like he’s in love with a potato). She’d need to be a similar height/shape to Jen to continue the way they look good together. I can think of a number of ladies/the sort of ladies who have the look/style that might play her well:

Keira Knightley (perhaps with added twist of Swan being reincarnated throughout time…)

Mila Kunis

Jenna Dewan Tatum

Kat Dennings

Kristin Kreuk

Leighton Meester

Even if none of the above, I’m sure they could find someone beautiful that has chemistry with Colin that we could learn to love in the role too.  They found her once, they can find her again.  They could then make good on many years to come…

I’m hoping this would mean my favourite writers would continue to find inspiration. I’m up for it. Are you?

Unfortunately, I just don’t think fans would be able to accept it. Most fans fell in love with Emma Swan as embodied by Jen and Killian as embodied by Colin. Would I have fallen in love with Killian Jones if portrayed by someone else? Not necessarily. I feel as if he and Jen were made to play those roles and the characters wouldn’t be the same if others had played them. They helped make those characters who they are and brought them to life for us.
