A/N: i absolutely love kishibe’s side story, albeit short, it kind of broke me 😭 so take this to mend your heart! <3
“Damn. Are you the new catch?”
You felt your cheeks immediately burn up as you locked eyes with the tall, dark-haired man in front of you. Resisting the urge to stare at the sly smirk spreading across his lips, you sputtered, “I- I don’t know what you’re talking about, but… I guess we’re buddies now.”
He let out a small chuckle, taking a large step towards you and clasping your clammy palm in his. “Name’s Kishibe. I look forward to becoming your right and left hand man.”
Your face simmered profusely as you struggled to avoid his potent gaze. “Nice to meet you, K-Kishibe.” The warmth of attraction blossoming from your heart to your cheeks suddenly became all too conspicuous. “I think… I think we’ll get along great.”
The man who had never let go of your hand voiced a low hum of approval. “I think we will too. Listen, how about I take you out to dinner tonight?” You shifted your eyes upwards to meet his flirtatious gaze. “We could, I dunno, grab a few drinks, get to know each other better, as buddies or maybe something more…”
Your heart was struck paralyzed in your chest at the way he casually dropped such a suggestive line at your first meeting with such nonchalance. His expression was cool and confident with a gaze that seemed to challenge yours. Was he experienced with this?
Kishibe stared into your eyes with his own, awaiting your answer for what seemed like an eternity before letting out a knowing laugh. “Hmm, looks like I caught you off guard, my dear.” He grasped your chin with a surprisingly gentle touch, tilting your head upwards. “Just let me know.” The man searched between each of your eyes for a moment before slowly dropping your chin and walking away, his back turned to you.
“Yes!” The words slipped out of your mouth before you could even realize it.
Kishibe stopped mid-stride, throwing an amused glance over his shoulder. “Yes?”
“Yes… Yes, I’ll accompany you to dinner.” You gave him the sweetest smile you could muster amidst your mortification.
A satisfied smirk spread across his dreamy lips once again, but this time, you allowed yourself to stare.
