i'm a little unsteady.

With a nod, Hannah let Kitty know that she wasn’t alone. This strange repetition of events was occurring to many of them, if not all. She couldn’t understand it in the least. Hell, she’d only just given in to acknowledging the truth of the matter. “I think it has. It’s incredibly confusing. I have two separate memories fighting for dominance, it feels like. Do you think we can keep things from getting so… bloody this time?”

Kitty was unsure of just how to respond to Hannah. Although, she’d always been a firm believer of controlling her own fate and making her own choices, the odds were fairly stacked against them here at Whittmore time and time again. She’d played her own hand in it then and would soon if history repeated itself. But would she…could she still with knowledge of what she knew now? Were they even here for redemption or had this long been written in a long history and another time loop? “I don’t know,” she admitted, her look uncertain. “I think for some us all we can do is try.”

It was not the best day. However, it was in all likelihood not the worst. In retrospective view it was much better than the day in which he had found himself pushed through a wormhole in the universe to abandon his many children under the ward of God knows who after all the efforts he had put into maintaining his family. Seeing his wife again after so many years for some may have been nerve wracking but based on a technicality they weren’t actually married and had – in some backwards way – never met in this context. The coffee in his hand was easily knocked back as he rounded the corner more accurately, his own reflection now mirrored behind her, some abstract version of the person(s) that they used to be. A small part of him expected the mirror to crack at the sheer complexity of it all but it did not, “Accurately, the best and the worst day. Numerically, March 24th 2001.”

It wasn’t the face the blonde had expected to see as her eyes met the owner of the voice within their reflection, the familiarity of the politician’s profile all but hitting her with the weight of a ton of bricks as fragraments of her memories with him broke through. “I don’t understand,” she murmured to the reflections before whipping around to face him. “I thought I was— What happened? Why are we here, Seth?” There were hints of pleading in her voice, a desperate, fruitless need to understand why they had been brought back to such a dark period in her life and all their lives. Why couldn’t they just leave time alone? Closing her eyes for a moment to steady her onslaught of thoughts, Kitty breathed a deep sigh, baby blues revealing themself once more as she gracefully bridged the gap between them to cup his face. “What do you remember?”

“I’ve been getting the feeling that it is,” Hannah answered from the doorway. She sighed and leaned against the frame, arms crossing as she looked on at the other girl. “To be honest, I’m not one hundred percent sure of the date right now, but I think it’s Friday. Don’t hold me to that either.” A light smile crossed her face as she considered the humor of the situation. With a tilt of her head, the brunette observed Kitty’s preoccupation with her reflection. She looked the same as Hannah recalled, but she hadn’t seen her in her blurry memories of the other lifetime. “Is everything okay?”

“Just fine,” she was quick to answer, steadying herself before throwing a small, reassuring smile over her shoulder as she came to recognize brunette beauty. It’d been an ages since she’d seen the store owner after all and as mind boggling and typically Whittemore as the situation was, here they were in a time where she was fairly certain they hadn’t even been acquainted of each other yet. “Hannah. Do you— do you remember too? I mean, it’s all starting again, isn’t it? This has all happened before,” she tried clarifying, finally turning to face her fully with the hope of not sounding like an utter loon.  Being apart of an alternate timeline was difficult and strange enough when no one else had seemed to remember anything, not in the way she had with her firmer grip on reality at least, and she wasn't at all keen on having that happen again.
