more bullet points!!
kitty is a junior at nyada and is currently a voice major. her fc is renee rapp and i'm also using renee as her voice claim, so she sings better than becca tobin (sorry to becca tobin stans).
kitty is my token mean lesbian. she is simply not nice. i'm sorry in advance.
she grew up in a very religious household and grew up knowing she was very different - in the sense that every time she saw a beautiful girl, she wondered what it might be like to kiss her. the guilt of that was a lot to handle for a long time, and she pushed it down for a long time. her parents had extremely high expectations for her to be god-honoring and to be little miss perfect at all times, and she tried to follow the teachings of her church and the guidance of her parents as much as she could. it wasn't until her parents divorced after her father's serial cheating came to light that she started to realize that her parents weren't perfect and didn't actually stand for the christian values that they claimed to stand by so devoutly.
kitty questioned her faith after this happened, and she began to rebel. i chose the label the mutineer for her because even though she does believe in god and still considers herself a christian, she rebels against the parts of it that she finds hateful and exclusionary. she doesn't attend church anymore, she lives her best loud mouth lesbian life and makes no apologies for it, even though it means that neither of her parents will talk to her anymore.
she has really complicated feelings about the parental estrangement. her parents pay for school but other than the checks they've sent her each semester, it's crickets. i think she knows that this is probably for the best, that living her truth is more important.
living her life authentically doesn't mean she's not a bitch, though. she's got a lot of opinions and she's not afraid to share them. approach her gently or she will spook and scratch you, just like an actual kitty cat might. if she ends up taking a liking to you, congrats, you are one of the chosen few.
