Yes, the protagonist is gender locked: This is my first time coding an IF and I didn't want to bit off more than I could chew. Not only that, I wanted to mix the otome/josei genre with the interactive format. Maybe it will work, maybe not.
This game is a ROMANCE first and foremost: You will not be able to opt out of it. I am aware that some people are not fond of this type of content and yes, you as a player will have the choice to have (or not!) sexual content/pda, but you will not be able to get out of locking into a romantic route.
Cold, cynical, and incredibly sardonic, Phobos is all objective, giving up on any and all distractions and not being afraid to do whatever it is necessary for the greater good. His no-nonsense attitude and his constant tries to intimidate anyone into submission turned him infamous in the organization. His morality is almost black and he doesn’t care about the sacrifices that he needs to do to obtain the desired result. Killing for him is second nature, but most of times he will let Deimos talk him down from his murderous rampage. At least until he decides that the more approachable way is not being efficient anymore.
Friendly, good natured, and helpful. Everyone who knows Deimos has the impression that the man is not fit for this kind of work. He is well regarded by anyone across HADES and normally tries to resolve everything without violence, doing a really good work as a “face” in his Kerberos Unit. But don’t be mistaken, even preferring to not harm innocents, Deimos is a perfect killing machine, honed by his past to be the perfect assassin and torturer. He has an approachable personality, but when working he only focus on the job that needs to be done. Can be quiet work focused and hyper fixate on the mission, which feeds his insomnia.
With zero chills to give and almost always having and anxiety attack due to Phobos and Deimos shenanigans, his boyish appearance masks very well his personality and he constantly runs with the power of coffee and spite. As a handler he is extremely methodical and professional, being proficient with first aid, tech, engineering, and plan making, even if his ADHD tries as hell to hinder his plans. Being a genius, he mostly always lose patience with stupidity and prefer to work by himself. Chaos is the youngest handler in HADES history and by far one of the most respected, at least by name, since he is the only one capable to make Phobos and Deimos to actually shut up with just a glare. Can be a tad dramatic and fatalist, but he rarely is wrong. His favorite phrase is “I ain’t paid enough to deal with this shit” (Yes, he is.).

Hi everyone!
With my last exam done and having just a last project to submit on the 25th, I'm finally free to sit down, take a deep breath, and put on paper everything that needs to be finished and done for the Chapter 1 update.
What does this mean?
I will take the next two days to devise a road map, touch up some designs, and overall plan how I'll approach update news in general.
My actual plans are kind of simple:
Release Chapter 1 and 1.5;
Finish Chapters 2 to 5;
Create a new template for the game (I'm really not happy with the one I'm using right now and I want to make one from the ground up so I can have more control over the code);
Rewrite the prologue;
Define how to approach future updates;
I want to put this on paper and make a reasonable road map with expectations and the order in which I pretend to tackle the points 2 to 5, so everyone can understand the process and know what to expect next!
I'll be back soon with more concrete news, some graphics, and replenished energy to give FWD the attention I couldn't give in the last two weeks.

Just two more days of Finals and I'll finally be able to get back into writing.
I had really high expectations for finishing the coding of the first chapter this week, but I'll have to delay it until my last two final tests. After wednesday I'll disappear in my office and only emerge with the finished Chapter 1 and interchapter.

Great question actually. The easy answer is: the game was intended to be an Otome game (believe it or not, a full blown Visual Novel Otome), but since I'm way too swamped with uni, I translated to an IF, thus, the ROs gender stayed the same as the original project, only the story medium changing.
The medium answer is: coding. When I decided to turn into an IF, I was going into the route of gender selectable ROs & MC, until I just realized that coding like that needs way more know how than I do. And yes, I could have turned one of the original ROs into girls, but it didn't felt right for me as a write.
Hard one: technically.... TECHNICALLY, there is two gender selectable routes for two characters that I devised as NPCs and just... They just felt right to became ROs. Since they are intended as gender selectable tho, I'll not be adding them anytime soon. They are very important to the plot and I don't want to botch it by just putting simple pronouns and basic traits change. I want it to feel as if each gender has their own flavor and depth.
I played a lot of IFs and one thing that always made hard for me with gender selectable ROS was that the author just changed the genre, but nothing actually impacted. I really don't want to do that.
If and when I add the new ROs, I want for the people picking their gender to really feel that it impacts their narrative and not just as a gimmick.

You aren’t entirely sure how to take Vic at times, especially considering you vaguely knew their grandfather and didn’t like him, but their intelligence and inventions are vital to your goal.
Quirky and abrasive, Vic can be difficult to get along with at the best of times. It’s taken some time for you to wrap your head around talking to the genius, but after 20 years, you like to think you know them quite well these days. They can still drive you up the wall, but you wouldn’t trade them for the world…or that’s what they tell you. You’re not so convinced when they blow up the lab for the fourth time in a week…at least the Monster is polite and genuinely helpful.

Hi everyone! It's been a long, long time LMAO. I'm pleased to say that the Pariah update is now ready to (tentatively) play through and sits at about 39k. Shorter then anticipated by 1k, but I think the playability (depending on your persuasion and anxiety stats) makes up for that. Public release will be announced once I have it run on Patreon for a while and I clean what I want to clean :)
