I think webnovels have made me lose my reasoning on chapter length 😭

Used to read like 20 chapters of like a 300 page book and called it very long but now when reading web novels and can't see the pages I'm like "Oh! 200 chapters? Pretty short but I'm sure it'll be good!" I READ AN 1000 CHAPTER BOOK AND SAID ITLL TAKE ME ABOUT A MONTHNOR TWO GDIANSIAK

Edit: would also like to state I read a 216 chapter web novel and it took me 4 days...

just realized there’s a very real chance Choi could mistake Goldie as a child of his species, though is it really that big of a mistake when Soleum is no longer human and dragons are long lived?

The assumption would most definitely be there as Goldie calls the blue dragon as "elder" and is obviously looked after by it in some way. Choi still wouldn't be wrong with the assumption anyways at all lol

Scenario: Right after choi left and took the good friend plush, Goldie immediately went to brag about his achievement. (The Choi part is him deciding how to handle the plush)

I was going to say something along the lines of “Choi sees Golden again after being with his Good Friend Doll for a while and his mind has a slight disconnect over them being the same despite technically knowing since the beginning they’re the same entity to parallel KSE seeing Braun in person again” but then I realized that this Good Friend Doll is literally a miniature version of Golden and not just an entirely different appearance like a small keychain-sized pink bunny plush and a huge TV-headed man. But! That could bring a different possibility, one where Choi is basically surrounded by a whole bunch of huge versions of his Good Friend Doll at the resort, so it’s hard for his mind to remember that he probably shouldn’t feel this safe in this disaster, especially knowing that while Goldie wouldn’t want to harm him, Goldie isn’t the only disaster there(but at the same time, Goldie would 100% protect him and wouldn’t tolerate anything like that happening in his resort). Choi feeling safe in the resort surrounded by all the mascots, that probably seems 100% like contamination, it probably would be in this case. Now I’m thinking about Choi in the resort, I wonder if he would basically would be a VIP guest or have a special job position,,, he probably won’t work or stay there without a good reason honestly, especially if it’s known that his judgement on what’s considered safe gets clouded almost like being contaminated while there, Bronze would probably smack him. Speaking of contamination, I remember seeing fanart popping up of instead of the Looky Mary contamination, Choi is contaminated into a Golden Resort employee after certain events of recent chapters, so that’s probably why that concept is stuck in my mind

I'm trying to answer all my inbox at once hhhhhh. But a Choi surrounded all safe by the mascots...it's all good :) also he gets the highest level of vip and privileges. Also his special job is actually related to talking to guests as Goldie trusts in his ability to make connections and make the resort more pleasing. It benefits choi too as he learns a lot from these, but one mascot is not too far in case something does happen but they got good security at this time.

love that Goldie and Braun are still friends in this AU! I can see Goldie liking Braun’s sophistication/elegance and since Soleum is a darkness now, there’s not that pesky hangup over Braun’s… everything. I wonder what Braun is interested in with Goldie, since it’s definitely a different first meeting than canon, but with enough interactions I can see Braun picking up Goldie’s potential, I believe in him.

The friendship was inevitable if I wanted D squad to live lol. In fact the meeting that was said they have discussed a lot of topics like how the resort could be fancier and how to take care of such a place. Braun gets VIP treatment a lot. But the potential is absolutely great in this one, because instead of having the knowledge Soleum had when he was his Good friend doll, he doesn't have that and can only ask Goldie's opinions himself! Also the interest stems from how he could be better than the almost canceled quiz show and snobby orchestra pig. (Braun is actually invested in how Goldie knew about that)(Goldie wanted him to keep his elegance)

you saying Choi signed one of Goldie’s contracts in the future makes me think Choi got Attic Wifed like KSE at some point, don’t know why, maybe it’s the whole Good Friend thing that’s making me think of the whole “got taken from my current workplace by my Good Friend to join his workplace” situation with KSE and Braun. Except I feel like Goldie would be more kind and gentle about it, but he is still a Darkness at the end of the day so who knows. And if Choi did get Attic Wifed, I feel like it’s because Goldie is or thinks he is protecting Choi in some way(if anything, probably from Choi himself), so he is forgiven in this hypothetical situation. Either that or he feels like Choi’s current salary and way of living are downright criminal and ridiculous, no in between

I wouldn't say Attic Wified lolol Goldie isn't one to tie down someone with him forcefully, maybe he'd talk about how great it would be but he has sound reason of sympathy that maybe it would be best to let Choi help others. I'd say the scenario is more like he got drafted in a war haha? A similar event to the second time canon soleum visited the blue dragon will happen just with the addition of Choi and hasn't actually happened yet. Just didn't know how to go about it as a comic as it would be more gory and the style currently is a bit cute? It's on the back burner for now.

I feel like Choi would allow it if it guarantees total civilian survival and safety, but it’s definitely not something he’d do unless he’d feel like it’s his only option left at first. I feel like the only way that’d change is when he starts trusting Goldie a lot more and grows more dependent on Goldie’s judgment <- that’s based on a previous post where you mentioned Choi feeling unease at being separated and wondering if he missed something Goldie would’ve noticed

In which case, he might be similar to Soleum in that regard, getting so used to the GF perks that the moment they’re separated it becomes more obvious how dependent they’ve gotten on their GF helping them or just being there for them

Anyway, Choi is the type to do something risky if he thinks people would be saved/benefit from it, like the Tiger to undo Soleum’s binding in Jisan or in DER with Looky Mart’s 4th floor when he went up to gather more information on it and got contaminated or just his plan to deal with the Sekwang disaster in general, but he’s always the one taking the risk himself, so it’s hard to say unless he really trusts Goldie with other people’s safety in that department and if they’d have a way to deal with possible contamination on civilians, because the Bureau does use Disasters that have proved to be helpful, so it’s not like he’d be doing something totally unprecedented

The rant is just fine, it's great to hear the thought process! Also it threw me off when you mentioned the abbreviated good friend as GF because I immediately went "girlfriend???" Lolol

With a dependent Choi I feel like others would want him to step back and like re-evaluate himself for a moment. Also yeah, he's the one taking risks so idk about the risk of others but I'd assume now that try to reason out the already contaminated ones would be safer with Goldie than other darknesses (temporarily as maybe its just easier to retrieve those unfortunate from him so like a type of storage but they have to get the person to sign a contract first), it's an uncomfortable situation for both perhaps as Soleum may still find contaminated employees to be uncanny.

can Goldie still make contracts and expand his business in his Good Friend body? Just Choi unintentionally helping the Golden Flower Resort grow in power in exchange for helping civilians out of a bad situation or getting rid of other more dangerous Disasters

He's able to, so long as papers are available to write the contract. I don't think he needs any outside ability to do so, but I doubt Choi would willingly allow it at first? I don't think Choi would allow a signing of working at the resort to keep themselves alive because of contamination (or would he? Someone tell me if hes that type of person). But the possibility that it would be allowed somewhat for an escape, like sign the contract and work a few days and boom your free.

(But behind his back, some contracts have been made between him and some darknesses, most temporary or creating new areas. He's getting all sorts of contacts.)
