Hey, Ghost fam! Not sure how many of these symbols/sigils are fleeting/aesthetic choices for some cute merch or if they bear any actual lore significance, but I thought some of you might like to learn about my buddies, up here!

These sigils are for demons, taken from The Lesser Key Of Solomon and they respectively belong to Paimon, Buné, and Beleth.

Paimon is the demon who was featured in Hereditary.  He rides a camel, is super pretty, and very loyal/obedient to Lucifer.  When he first shows up, his voice is such that you, as his summoner, cannot understand what the fuck he’s saying unless you compel him otherwise.  He knows a lot about elements and will give you “good familiars”.

Buné has three heads (traditionally dragon, dog, and griffin), a “high and comely voice” and can help you up your wisdom and charisma stats.

Beleth looks like a cat in the Dictionnaire Infernal drawing and is also associated with music.  He’s a furious little shit and you really have to know what the fuck you’re doing to deal with him.  He’s also the demon in Marianne, which I still haven’t watched, and seems to get associated with cats pretty often.

Beleth also rides a pale horse, and all kinds of music is heard before him (hmmm does it ring any bells?👀). When someone makes a pact to get Beleth’s powers they must pay some tribute to the demon, like wearing silver rings (on the exact fingers and hand that Copia wears them )

Bune is very interesting and we can find some possible references to him in past merch designs! Like the Graveyard Tee, which features Copia calling forth the spirits of the dead in a lonely graveyard.

There’s also the Skeletal Prayers Crewneck showing Copia conjuring a host of skeletons in worship. 

How could this be related to Bune? Well, Bune can move the bodies of the dead in and out of tombs and burial chambers, and his legions of spirits tend to gather in cemeteries, graves, and other burial sites 👻💀

There’s also the symbol of the Antichrist. Copia was represented with the same mark in the illustration of the backdrop during the Metallica tour. It also looks a lot like Damien’s birthmark in “The Omen” (we know TF loves the movie).

Tria Principia: Salt: it’s everything external, the visible, the physical, the solid; the Body; it’s crystallized, materialized energy. Mercury: it represents the Soul, but also the mind and emotions. Sulphur: it has always been associated with fire (confirmed by the triangle of the fire element present in its symbol); in this case it refers to the Holy Fire, to our Spirit, to our Divine Essence.

Tudor Rose: Aphrodite introduced a rose to her son Eros, god of love. The rose became a symbol of love and desire. Eros gave the rose to Harpocrates, to induce him not to gossip about his mother’s indiscretions. In this way the rose became the emblem of silence and secrecy. Also in the Middle Age a rose would be thrown from the roof of the council of the chamber, committing everyone present to keep the secret, or sub Rosa, “under the rose”. (I’m not sure about this one, but my twitter mutual @general_amidala talked about this).
