Responding to a probably ages-old post;
I love the narrative potential of Ka'an as a ship. Between the timeline-altering potential if Kirk survived & returned with La'an (potentially having to hide his existance for the rest of their lives) to the world building reveal of Kirk's home timeline. Earth destroyed, still at war; what more can they add world-wise & most importantly how would HE react differently as a person?
Then you have La'an- as she said in her own words 'he saw her for the person she could be.' Deattached to her family's past; Where could she go? A new-found confidence... Or a new-found fear of losing him? (Bonus points for a 'La'an goes back & fixed the 2x03 timeline, now too scared it'll happen again)
Some say this ship is boring, I say that's total BS, these babies need HEALING.
Yesss! There is so much potential within the ship!
I personally prefer the potential (that will never be explored on screen) in the prime timeline (especially because there was some resonance for Kirk "I felt like I knew you"), but so many interesting AUs could be created just based on 2x03 episode.
