Association Between the Frequent Use of Perineal Talcum Powder Products and Ovarian Cancer: a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis 🧬
Amidst the journey of introducing my kink to my partner, she made me aware that there is an ongoing discussion about a possible association between talcum powder (one of the main ingredients in baby powder) and ovarian cancer. Consequently, the powder has remained in the drawer whenever we get kinky together.
While I had skimmed through some articles before, I recently decided to take a deeper look into the topic.
First of all, I was interested in how the cancer could supposedly be caused. There is no definitive answer yet, but the leading theory is that after application, talcum particles can travel through the uterus and into the fallopian tubes, where they may cause chronic inflammation. One of the main arguments supporting this theory is that talc particles have been found in ovarian cancer tissue.
To get a better understanding of the actual risk, I asked GPT specifically about recent large meta-analyses on the topic and then looked into the results myself. The most recent paper I found is a 2022 study by Woolen et al.
Background Risk of ovarian cancer in women with frequent perineal talcum powder product is not well understood. Prior systematic reviews foc
Woolen et al. emphasize that their analysis focuses on frequent (>2 times/week) talcum use in the perineal region (a.k.a. the genital area), which caught my attention since many Age Players/ABDLs may use baby powder quite frequently. The resulting odds ratio for ovarian cancer in this study was 1.47, which is somewhat higher compared to older meta-analyses — probably because studies involving less frequent talcum use were excluded. But what does that actually mean? I asked the AI to explain the results in a more tangible way, and it came up with a good example: Women with frequent talcum exposure showed an additional relative risk increase of 47%. That means that if the general lifetime risk for ovarian cancer is, for example, 1.3% (13 out of 1,000 women develop ovarian cancer), a relative increase of 47% (1.3% × 1.47) would raise the risk to about 1.9% (19 out of 1,000 women).
That is not much — but it is also not nothing. The topic is still debated because different study designs have produced conflicting results, and there is clearly no definitive answer yet. In the end, smoking and drinking are probably far more harmful to your body than playing baby and occasionally using baby powder on your private parts. And yes, I still love the smell of classic baby powder too. But for now, it probably cannot hurt to switch to baby powder without talc.

Does the use of modern disposable Diapers affect the incidence of primary enuresis/prolong the diaper dependency in children.
While I have heard non-scientific discussions about the disadvantages of modern disposable diapers before, I was wonderung if any big studies had been conducted regarding this topic. The idea is that the modern diaper has such an effective absorbing capability, so that the child does not feel the wetness immidiatly. And whilst that has an positive advantage in terms of skincare, the lack of an uncomfortable feeling of a wet diaper might make the journey of leaving the diapers behind a little longer than necessary.
I found a big chinese study confirming a positive correlation between the use of disposable diapers and primary nocturnal Enuresis:
"In conclusion, the children diagnosed with primary enuresis after age 5 stopped using disposable diapers at daytime later than the control group. Association between duration of DD exposure and the risk of childhood enuresis is modified by AITT/EC (assisted infant toilet training/elimination communicationpractice). Timely cessation use of disposable diaper and practice AITT/EC may shorten the time to nocturnal continence, and the prospective cohort studies are needed to verify the discoveries."
The publication is available for free:

I think it is a valid point to theorize that the advantages of the modern disposable diaper are the reason that diaper dependency is prolonged and thus, regarding other ideas about fetish and classic conditioning I have posted before, might also be an aspect that increases the incidence of diaper fetish in modern western society.

Very nice overview about the definition and the theories behind the development of a fetish, although the mentioned study about the incidence of fetishes is from the year 2014 and did not ask the participants specifically about abdl/diapers/ddlg.

I can confirm that the bigger pharmacys in Japan sell adult diapers. I visited "Pop Life Department M's" and "Love Mercy" in Tokyo as well and "Love Mercy" does indeed sell ABDL-stuff (not allowed to take pictures there), but its primarily single packaged diapers with a ridiculous price tag (🤯🙈 )!

Is classical conditioning an answer to developing a kink? 🤔
For a while now, I have been trying to figure out how a fetish develops. Occasionally, I still struggle with it, thinking my life would be easier without it, and I still hope that understanding it will give me a little more peace in dealing with it.
I have always suspected that the development of my kink happened very early in my life, because in retrospect my first kinky memories are of being fascinated with diapers at the age of 6. For that to occur, the stimulus of feeling the diaper on my genitals between the ages of 1–4 must have had an arousing effect on me, triggering fetish development in the sense of classical conditioning (basically like Pavlov’s dogs 🤤🐶).
Recently, while browsing PubMed, I stumbled across an older publication on fetish development that I had missed before. In essence, scientists tried to imprint a fetish on male rats using little jackets. While wearing the jackets, the rats were exposed to females, and copulation behavoir and ejaculation times were measured. Rats that were conditioned with the jacket on had significant problems ejaculating in the presence of a female when they were deprived of their jacket.
I was not surprised by the results, and I think they add a little weight to my suspicion, although how early children can actually begin to feel arousal is probably hard to determine—and my idea is likely quite a stretch.
I have also always wondered about the large gender imbalance in the diaper fetish community. I know that online platforms like Fetlife are not a perfect indicator of how many men or women have a kink, because female membership numbers are generally lower across most kinks on such platforms, likely also due to male behavior in general. I also know that there are controversial discussions about this in several forums. Still, I cannot help but notice that the imbalance seems much greater with the diaper kink in particular.
I know I may be sticking my neck out even further with this thought, but I wonder whether the diaper fetish occurs more in men than in women because the sensory areas of male genitalia are simply more exposed/pressed into the diaper than female genitalia. Consider how much more exposed the glans penis is compared to the clitoral glans—not even taking into account that modern anatomy has finally recognized the sensitivity of the clitoral body, crura, and bulbs as well. This makes the percentage of highly receptive areas exposed to clothing or external stimuli much higher in male genitalia.
Long story short: if classical conditioning is an answer to the development of a kink, and if there is a gender imbalance in a certain kink, anatomy might be part of that answer.
Here is the link to the aforementioned paper "Somatosensory conditioning of sexual arousal and copulatory behavior in the male rat: A model of fetish development": https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0031938413002539?via%3Dihub
first nude I ever sent ^^
"Description of the neural network based on AB/DL pictures. Possible implications for forensic sexology"
The model presented might be effective in the classification of several objects and behaviors presented in a number of pornography categorie
Found a new paper from Poland that I do not like. The researchers in this paper aimed to train a neural network to automatically recognize/find illegal child pornography. But since this material is illegal for a good reason, they instead successfully trained their algorithm to recognize ABDL content. I get where they are coming from and I support the idea to fight child pornography, but from a pro-ABDL's perspective this obviously feels wrong. Our community always has to emphasize that it is about childish behavoir and not pedophilia. Putting "ABDL" and "forensic sexology" into the same sentence basically criminalizes ABDLs already in the title.
