Kumagawa looked both ways before crossing the road-

Only for a car to immediately plow into him. He was sent flying, his whole body thrown and colliding into the wall of a nearby building in a way that he only thought was possible in cartoons. Kumagawa was slowly peeled off the wall by gravity and fell on his back, right in front of Izaya’s feet. 

Then, without even missing a beat he stood up and smiled as always. As if the car crashing into him had never even happened. As if he did not feel any pain. He just sat there smiling, ignoring it all. 

『You’re a pretty cruel person aren’t you? You just sit there and smile when a cute and innocent child like me gets hit by a car.』

Kumagawa did not look very mad contrary to his words. 

『Oh well. I probably deserved it anyway. Hey, stranger, why do bad things happen to bad people?』

He just wanted a normal walk. That’s all he wanted out of life right now. After the whole, weird fiasco that happened with the city during the Halloween season, just one bit of normal seemed like it was too much to ask now. 

However, the last thing he expected to happen was finding a strange kid at his feet after just being thrown into the air by a damn car. Who was he? A retaliative of the protozoan? He had to be.. --Then again, this city was full of people from other ‘worlds’. 

                                           “Cruel? Me? --Maybe.” 

The informant laughed, placing his hands in his pockets before leaning towards the boy. A full look of amusement taking over his expression after listening to what it was the other was spewing out of his mouth. Especially the fact the other called himself cute, which was a laugh on its own. Maybe he’s that kind of stupid cute humans seem to be affected by? He’ll have to see. 

          “Why do bad things happen? Hmm... That’s an           interesting question actually. Usually humans           ask the question of why bad things happen to           good people, but never bad. --Perhaps it’s           because society in itself has to put fault on           someone they dub the villain in hopes to keep           whatever illusion of balance and sanity afloat,            keep what those in power fear most at bay.”

Sakura was spending quite some time trying to figure out what she wanted. She normally only came to the cafe for the bakery treats that were always offered but, she wanted to get something to drink as well. Reading over the menus items, she would let anyone go before her to order. Though that wasn’t the case this time, a stranger decided to offer to buy whatever she wanted. Taking her gaze away from the menu, she looked at the guy and tilted her head. She was curious why he would offer to do such a thing. 

          “Um… Why would you want to buy my stuff too? I could order the whole menu and you would have to pay for it.”

It was an honest question and she could order the whole menu since she did have the money. Turning her gaze to the menu again, she quickly picked out two bakery sweets and order a large hot chocolate with vanilla flavoring. Something warm to drink since, she wasn’t in the mood for anything cold at the moment. Once she was done, she turned to the stranger again. “Thank you for buying my stuff but, you really shouldn’t have. You are new here? You probably don’t have a lot of the currency here so you should be careful!”

He was all smug as can be until she raised a good point. She could have gotten the whole menu, and nothing would have been able to stop her either since he did say that she could get anything she wanted. That was just poor planning on his part, and all cause his ego wanted to have a moment to shine. He could already hear his wallet screaming at him. However, there was a moment of relief passing over him when she decided to not kill his bank account and only get a few things. 

         “I am actually, yes. --I’m not too worried about it.           I don’t do this too often, and it’d be lonely for you           to eat the treats by yourself, right?”

Handing the money over to the cashier, a smile couldn’t help but pull at his lips for a moment as he got the change back. Who was this child thinking she could lecture him on how he spent his cash? --She wasn’t wrong, since he should have been more careful with his words during his offer. This definitely wasn’t going to be a thing that’d become a usual occurrence that’s for sure. Right now, he was just more concerned about making a circle of acquaintances once more.

i think the fact this shithead canonly owned a little more than 10 cell phones not only showed fans how wealthy this fucker was, but also how paranoid he lowkey was when it came to anything involving his job that could fuck him over. also, lets just take a moment to press F for our man and how CRAZY his phone bill must be monthly. jesus christ, sure he can afford it but like ya got other bills ya still gotta pay kiddo. calm down on the cell phones.
