he does not fear the scrutiny of the public eye. ā but then, he's not exactly the one who has to worry with a reputation on the line. there might gossip, perhaps even looks of approval or jealousy (because a man can get away with far more than a lady), but his repercussions would be deemed far less severe than what she could ever experience. and yet he has chosen to meet here at the dead of night when most should already be asleep. a bench at the park with only the light of the moon and the twinkling stars to light the way for them. he sits so close, his body facing hers (their knees touching) ā a hand reaches for her cheek as his gentle touch caresses her face. criston finds himself leaning in, nose bumping against hers in the process as he whispers, ā you spend so much time pushing me away. might you just ⦠stay for just a moment? ā he waited a beat, for a moment of clarity. only when he was sure it was okay did he close that little distance with a soft brush of his lips against hers. lingering far longer than he'd meant.

i'm tired of waiting for the day you realize i'm in love with you.
i saw this and it made me think of you.
my days feel better when you're part of them.
i noticed everything about you.
can i kiss you?
if you keep that up, i might just fall in love with you.
i thought i'd never feel this way again ⦠and then you came around.
would you like to stay the night?
do you want to sleep with me?
friends don't kiss me the way you did and then expect me to forget.
i just want to sit here, eat cake, and forget the world outside of us exists.
i think my hand was made to fit in yours.
don't forget me.
ā action based prompts.
the sender tucks wild hairs behind the receiver's ear mid-conversation, rendering the receiver speechless momentarily.
the receiver reaches for the sender's hand after the sender placed a blanket around the receiver's sleepy form, wanting to pull the sender to join the receiver.
the sender wraps their arms around the receiver's shoulders/arms from behind, no words spoken. they simply wanted a peaceful moment with the other.
the receiver has playfully stolen an article of the sender's clothing and the sender tries to steal it back, Ā leaving room for playful and consensual forced proximity.
the sender runs through rain trying to catch up to the receiver after a disagreement that has kept them apart for a couple of days.
the sender stands in front of the receiver's door with a care package (full of candies, a teddy bear, and more) after the receiver had a terrible blind date.
She's familiar with the man's taunts. He always seems to single out her. Most who look to provoke go for the more vocal members of the group, but she thinks he just likes to ruffle her feathers.
She purses her lips.
"Your bounties will mean nothing soon enough." She extends her hand to give him a pamphlet, lips pursed and chin held high. She considers swapping her pile of pamphlets for a sign just to spite him. "You're so focused on your bounties, but you should be focusing on clearing your soul."
She nods to the pamphlet. "Take it. It's very eye opening."
he should take offense to how she addresses him, instead he cannot help the grin that forms. amusement gets the best of him ā his horse reigns hitched to a post nearby before stopping before her.
he holds the pamphlet shoved into his gloved hand and stands there in silence for just a moment, eyeing the woman. amusement is dwindling quickly ā he cannot help but to find her odd. and arrogant.
ā i can't read, ā he replies suddenly in a dull tone. (his expression matches.) and as he carries on with his lie, the pamphlet is less than gracefully given back to her. ā and you really ought to stop spreading your madness around. one of these days someone will catch a fright. ā
ć ¤šć ¤THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES (NOVEL)
ć ¤ā a collection of prompts from the novel. please change pronouns and 㠤㠤 㠤㠤verbiage as needed.
people arenāt so bad, really, itās what the world does to them.
nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping.
youāve no right to starve people, to punish them for no reason.
those are things everyone is born with, and theyāre not yours for the taking.
well, as they said, it's not over until the mockingjay sings.
snow lands on top.
you're mine and I'm yours. it's written in the stars.
wars are won by heads not hearts.
someday something will kill me, but it wonāt be you.
i think thereās a natural goodness built into human beings.
before need, before love, came trust.
i've no use for liars. what are lies but attempts to conceal some sort of weakness?
you matter to me.
that is the thing with giving your heart. you never wait for someone to ask. you hold it out and hope they want it.
try not to look down on people who had to choose between death and disgrace.
there is a point to everything or nothing at all, depending on your worldview.
you can blame it on the circumstances, the environment, but you made the choices you made, no one else.
what young brains lack in experience they sometimes make up for in idealism. nothing seems impossible to them.
courage in battle was often necessary because of someone elseās poor planning.
trust is important.
i saved you from the fire, and you saved me from the snakes. we're responsible for each other's lives now.
it's the things we love most that destroy us.
everyone handles grief differently.
did you tell your best friend his crush was a cannibal?
iām planning to build a whole new beautiful life here.
what was there to aspire to once wealth, fame, and power had been eliminated?
was the goal of survival further survival and nothing more?
do you hear that, ___? itās the sound of snow falling.
and if even the most innocent among us turn to killers in the hunger games, what does that say? that our essential nature is violent.
who needed wealth and success and power when they had love? didn't it conquer all?
you won't be alone in the arena; we'll be together.
itās just the kind of story that catches fire.
roses are red, love; violets are blue. birds in the heavens know i love you.
in any scenario, itās preferable to have the upper hand, to be the victor rather than the defeated.
start with that. chaos. no control, no law, no government at all.
everyone had learned to despise waste.
sometimes i think i love them because i can't trust them, and how mixed up is that?
we donāt charge for tickets, because sometimes hungry people need music the most.
without the threat of death, it wouldnāt have been much of a lesson.
thatās mankind in its natural state.
go build me a mansion, build it so high, so i can see my true love go by.
you canāt take my sass. you canāt take my talking. you can kiss my ass and then keep on walking.
iām bad news, all right.
hey, you found some katniss.
weāll get new dreams out there...
we just took a wrong turn one day and were obliged to stay.
but it matters the world having someone show up like i mattered.
that sort of hubris almost finished us off in the war.
maybe he was not cut out to be a lover. maybe he was more of a loner at heart.
it suggested a tale that could only end in tragedy.
i hope old you doesn't haunt new you. we've already got enough ghosts between us.
in a few years, there would be a vague memory that a girl had once sung in the arena.
you didnāt have to like your family. the bond was a given.
because who we are determines the type of governing we need.
what sort of agreement is necessary if weāre to live in peace? what sort of social contract is required for survival?
a little thought can save a lot of lives.
who cares about you? or even better, who can you count on?
tell her, that we are so sorry she has to die.
iām not convinced that we are all as inherently violent as you say, but it takes very little to bring the beast to the surface, at least under the cover of darkness.
if history teaches you anything, itās how to make the unwilling comply.
human beings may not be perfect, but we are better than that.
why bother pinching pennies when the dollars had fled long ago?
this is . . . this is maybe the best night of my life.
you know what i wonāt miss? people. except for a handful. theyāre mostly awful, if you think about it.
we should kill them all.
my friend, your life has just begun!
sounds like torture, having someone controlling your voice like that.
the only boy my heart has a sweet spot for now is you.
one way or another, their fates were irrevocably linked.
so supportive. so duplicitous. so self-destructive. like a moth to a flame.
maybe her gravestone could read, 'casualty of cheap laughs.'
you canāt take my charm. you canāt take my humor.
why did these people think that all they needed to start a rebellion was anger?
i'm in my spring cleaning era. visual aesthetics will be redone. carrd is getting a massive overhaul, including but not limited to: guidelines, verses, mains, etc. as far as transferring things over from the old blog, the odds are looking not in our favor. i'll occasionally poke back over there and pick out some old drafts but right now whatever is in my drafts currently and the inbox is what i'm working with. i do want to get back to the point where i'm constantly active here but for now i'm satisfied with bouncing blogs and following my whims. but more productivity should be coming around the more i get organized.

I would kill for you. ⢠I would make love to you. ⢠I would fuck you. ⢠I would protect you. ⢠I would hurt you for a selfish cause. ⢠I wish we had more in common. ⢠I want nothing to do with you. ⢠I want to see you cry. ⢠I want a future with you. ⢠I want to destroy your future. ⢠I do not care what you do. ⢠I am indifferent towards you. ⢠I want children with you. ⢠I love you ( platonically ) ⢠I love you ( romantically ) ⢠I love you life family. ⢠You are my family. ⢠I could fall in love with you. ⢠I would lie for you. ⢠I would fight by your side. ⢠I will never let you go. ⢠I would hold you while you cried. ⢠I would hug you. ⢠I want to kiss you. ⢠I would stay by your bedside if you were ill. ⢠I want to fall asleep with you in my arms. ⢠I want to forget you. ⢠I will never forget you. ⢠I only want to make you proud. ⢠I wish I could make you happy. ⢠You deserve nothing. ⢠I will never forgive you. ⢠You confuse me.
he never said that he wished for a such a thing. he simply asked her if she wanted a divorce. and yet, as she responds ⦠it is a definite answer. nothing in between in need of discussion. yes, she had said. and in that moment, something within him broke. he regrets ever asking. they could have carried on as they were. (he could have lived happily in their arrangement based on a lie. he could continue to fool himself into believing they shared something geniune ā that the love he felt for he was reciprocated.) the damage had been done with a simple yes that upturned his entire world. criston's gaze lowers back down to his food and he chews. he has to. he feels himself on the verge of possible tears but he holds strong. (never one to really cry, why should he start now?) chewing comes to a slow and he swallows. he forces himself to look at her but his expression is blank. dull. hardly readable.
Ā ā then we are divorced. ā such a thing in dorne is so simple. words need be only spoken by both parties ā and he gives her what she wants. Ā ā you are no longer bound to me. ā he cannot stomach anything else. for a moment he contemplates what more he could say. that he wishes to remain friends? (companionship is what led him to falling for her to begin with, what led him to realizing how important she is to him.) no. he cannot remain friends when his heart yearns for her. ā i'll return to my parent's home immediately, then. i hope you find the one who gives you something more, like you've always desired, ā his words are low. unlike him. he stands and unable to look at her anymore, he leaves to retrieve his belongings.
karenās hand clutched at his jacket, Ā fingers trembling but resolute. Ā she let him pull her up, Ā the motion slow, Ā careful,Ā like she was an anchor dragging him down. the world tilted, Ā her head a dull throb of protest, Ā but she ignored it. Ā she had to. there was no room for weakness, Ā not now. not in front of him. Ā she took a slow, Ā measured breath, Ā trying to regain her bearings, Ā but it felt like every step was harder than the last.Ā
the silence between them hung thick, Ā suffocating, Ā filled with the weight of things left unsaid. Ā her apartment, Ā once a refuge, Ā now felt like a graveyard of all her secrets. Ā the walls, Ā usually comforting in their quiet, Ā seemed to press in on her now, Ā as though everything she had hidden ā every file, Ā every emotion, Ā every scar ā was staring her in the face. Ā the air was heavy with something she couldnāt shake, Ā a tension thick with the realization that she had let herself slip too far. Ā she had known what she was getting into, Ā knew the risks, Ā but it never seemed real until it was. Ā the irony was not lost on her: Ā she had spent so much time chasing ghosts, Ā now she was haunted by them in the one place she thought would always be safe.Ā
āiām not going to the hospital, ā she whispered, Ā the words slipping out before she could stop them, Ā as much a plea as a declaration. Ā āi know what theyāll say. Ā concussion. Ā rest. Ā fluids. Ā iāll be fine. ā the lie felt hollow as it left her mouth, Ā but it was easier than confronting the truth, Ā easier than admitting she was shaken. Ā her gaze wandered, Ā unfocused, Ā to the door, Ā then back to him. Ā there was a softness in his eyes, Ā but no judgment ā just the quiet promise of something steady, Ā if only because he was paid to be. Ā ājust get me out of here, ā she breathed, Ā her voice barely above a whisper, Ā like it was too fragile to speak louder. Ā āanywhere but here. ā
he should have known the moment he mentioned the hospital that she would give him a hard time. criston frowns at her words ā but he knows she's right. (even if he strongly believes she should still go to the hospital, but he's not going to argue with a stubborn woman who likely has a concussion.) he eyes her a moment longer and her request is one he hesitantly nods to. her safety space has been invaded and she was attacked. a hospital is out of the question ā and likely would feel just as unsafe as her apartment. so with an arm tucked under her shoulder and hoisting her Ā weight against him, he helps her up and decides that he'll take her to the only place he believes would be safest.
within a half an hour he finds himself making tea at his own apartment, glancing around the corner wall to take a peek at her every so often. normally not one to mix her personal and professional lives, but she's in need and ā well, he's on the job now, isn't he? he made sure to offer her a change of clothes (a t-shirt and sweats he believed he could part with) and cleaned up the wound he even added a plain boring band-aid to before giving her some space.
but her solitude comes to an end when he finally brings a cup of tea for her ā upon a tray with various offers. (he wasn't sure if she liked milk or sugar or honey so all three await being chosen.) the tray is set on the coffee table before her and criston takes a seat across from where she sits ā abruptly pulling out his phone to scroll. ā according to mayo clinic, you need to rest. so no thinking or heavy activity. doctor's orders. ā he points to himself as though he's the credible doctor around here. but on a softer note, ā how are you holding up? ā
gooood morning you undercover greenies. šāāļø (pls don't yell at me, i'm joking.) i'm going to make more of an effort to be here socially soon. drafts are being queued but i miss talking about my boy and being a dash nuisance.

㠤㠤š„ć ¤THE MUMMY (1999) ā a collection of dialogues from
㠤㠤㠤㠤the film. please change pronouns and verbiage as needed.
but for our love, we were willing to risk life itself.
you must go. save yourself.
only you can resurrect me.
but for my love of ___ i was willing to defy the gods.
i knew this was gonna be a lousy day.
personally, i would like to surrender. why can we not just surrender?
then let's run away. right now. while we can still make it.
give me frogs, flies, locusts, anything but this!
you are a catastrophe! Ā why do i put up with you?
have you no respect for the dead?
i think you found something.
i've already dated it, this map is almost four thousand years old.
my dear girl, don't be ridiculous. we are scholars, not treasure hunters.
you burned it! you burned off the part with the lost city!
i lie to everybody, what makes you so special?
i tremble with anticipation.
how do we know that's not a load of pig swallow?
i found sand. i saw death.
could you tell me how to get there? the exact location?
for all the money we're paying you, something better goddamned well be under that sand.
personally, i think he's filthy, rude and a complete scoundrel. i don't like him one bit.
smashing day for the start of an adventure, eh, ___?
can you look me in the eye, and guarantee me this is not some sort of flimflam?
i have come to protect my investment, thank you very much.
i only gamble with my life, never my money.
what makes you so confident, sir?
the only thing that scares me, ___, are your manners.
still angry that i kissed ya, huh?
did i miss something? are we going into battle?
the last time i was at that place everybody i was with died.
and the fact that they say it's made out of pure gold, makes no nevermind to you, right?
by the way ... why did you kiss me?
i was about to be hanged, seemed like a good idea at the time.
why if it ain't my little buddy, ___. i outta kill you.
so what's the scam? you get 'em out in the middle of the desert then leave 'em to rot?
the devil himself lives out there.
i am going to kill you for this!
never did like camels. filthy buggers. they smell, they bite, they spit. disgusting.
what in bloody hell is this?
do you realize, we are standing inside a room that no one has entered in over four thousand years.
you're welcome to my share of the spider webs.
and it stinks to high heaven in here.
mummies, my good son. this is where they made the mummies.
let's be nice, children, if we're going to play together, we must learn to share.
we'll sneak up and steal that book right out from under them.
i say, what's our smelly little friend got himself up to?
oh my god ... it looks like ⦠it looks like a sarcophagus.
salt acid. pressurized salt acid. some sort of ancient booby-trap.
no. i believe if i can see it and i can touch it, then it's real. that's what i believe.
i say, bloody good show.
i know, you're wondering, what's a place like me doing in a girl like this?
i may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure hunter, or a gunfighter! but i'm proud of what i am.
don't blame me, i don't even remember being there.
there is a curse upon this chest.
ādeath will come on swift wings to whomever opens this chest.ā
it says, there is one, the undead. who if brought back to life ā is bound by sacred law to consummate this curse.
the curse ⦠beware the curse!
i've never seen a mummy look like this.
oh my god, he was buried alive and he left a message.
it says: death is only the beginning.
in all of my research, i've never read of this curse actually having been performed.
you sure you outta be playin, around with that?
it's just a book, no harm ever came from a book.
would you quit playing, around? let's get outta here already!
i told you to leave or die, you refused, and now you may have killed us all. for you have unleashed the creature that we have feared for more than four thousand years.
no mortal weapons can kill this creature. he is not of this world.
i may have use for you. Ā and the rewards will be great.
we must now hunt him down, and try and find a way to kill him, before he consumes the earth.
know this, the creature will be coming for you.
i thought you didn't believe in this stuff?
that's what i am to you? a contract?
ya little stinkweed, where did you slink off to?
yeah, well, we all got our little problems today don't we?
we are in serious trouble.
you saved me from the undead.
there's only one person I know who can possibly give us some answers.
i'm willing to go on a little faith here.
and you think this justifies killing innocent people!?
the creature must first try and regenerate, and then he will attempt to resurrect the one he has loved for more than four thousand years.
he has chosen you to be-the human sacrifice needed to regenerate the body of ___.
who put you in charge? you can't just leave me behind like some old suitcase.Ā
i'm the one responsible for this mess and i intend to be the one to clean it up.
it is better to be the right hand of the devil ... than in his path. as long as i serve him, i am immune.
what are you looking for? lie and i'll slit your throat.
that looked rather painful.
ya know, ever since i met you, my luck has been for crap.
i think you were jealous.
you think it'll send this guy back to hell?
it has begun. the beginning of the end.
don't tell me we gotta go back out there?
you better think of something, because if he turns me into a mummy, you're the first one i'm coming after.
be calm. there is still time.
is it dangerous?
everybody else we've bumped into has died, why not you?
from now on, don't touch anything. not a damn thing.
