Lisa and I are thinking about our future - yours and ours. We are wondering what we can do to make it better, fairer and sustainable. We are sort of green. Lisa is using research to make things better. The problem is that I am a bit too angry to buy in to it all fully - no rainbow jumper here. I am happy to try and live a better life but that isn't good enough, we need more. I want politicians to pull their fingers out, to act like leaders and I want businesses to help contribute to a better, not greedier, world. If I'm honest I want it now (I know Mum, "I wants don't get"). This blog started out with grand ideas, then it was a way to communicate while we were away in Guyana, South America. I thought this blog would be my attempt to to keep track of our activities. Instead, I think it may evolve into the real life of a Wannabe Eco Warrior.

We were watching this documentary today but I have been thinking about this for a while. The plastic used and wasted and dumped all over the world is the perfect example of human laziness and contempt for our planet. Not just the person dumping the plastic, but the companies making the products and the governments watching the waste piles and pollution grow. I can’t help but think we aren’t learning quick enough. If we can’t sort out something as simple as plastic waste and pollution in oceans, how are we ever going to educate all children and stop war?

Community Energy

Sitting in a village hall waiting for the meeting to start. Waste to energy via pyrolysis. Can we win over the village? Will renewable (sort of energy) win over fears based on bits of knowledge? Exciting.

Was thinking about the recent extreme weather in the UK. It was well documented and warnings issued but still it has affected a lot of people and businesses.
