remember in the boat scene in tdt when blue finally told gansey his boat shoes were dumb and he literally had an internal monologue where he was like “these boat shoes are the only thing that make me feel alive”

my favorite thing about blue sargent is her compassion. i think often with female characters compassion is a shortcut to motherly/nurturing/gentle, being the Nice One, the rule follower. not for blue. she’s prickly and standoffish and hotheaded but still has this amazing capacity for empathy. we see this in her breakup with adam, where she’s angry and hurt and scared but still worries about him and his well being, still recognizes how hard he’s trying to overcome his problems. we see it when she’s with noah, where she has to set boundaries so he doesn’t drain her of all energy– a super pointed dilemma for a female character imo, since women in real life so often drain ourselves for men– but still caring about him, no matter what he is. recognizing that what he is is not what he should be, but loving him anyway. i love blue sargent

Gansey: Oh please, you wouldn’t hurt a fly! Blue: You’re right! Because a fly is an innocent creature that never knowingly did anything to anybody. You, however, I would maim.

Henry Cheng definitely calls Gansey ‘old sport’ at least once.
