Hello everyone! I was told about this website, and thought I'd make an account. So, I suppose I'll introduce myself.

Name: Nikolai Park

Age: 16 (I was born August 25th!!)

Father: Neptune (I'd prefer not to associate myself with him.)

I am a Roman demigod, although I… kind of sort of abandoned the legion to join the Titans. I regret it heavily. I'd say I don't belong to a camp anymore.

I'm an aspiring actor. I adore musical theater and would love to write and act in my own play some day. My mother also works in musical theater, so I guess that's where I got it from. She's a lovely woman. Every mother should aspire to be like her. Everyone in general should do so.

I'll be honest. I'm a lousy fighter. I don't have much skill with weapons. The only reason I'm even alive right now is because I copy what I see and I'm good with words. I'm nothing compared to some of my old friends. All the rumors about me being a bloodthirsty killing machine from during the Titan war are false. I am the most pathetic demigod you will ever meet.

Feel free to ask me anything! As long as you keep it respectful and don't try to pry too much, I will answer as best I can.

Alright! New York! I've always wanted to be here.

Nikolai wouldn't say he was in New York for the reasons he'd expected, but he was there, and by being there, he was fulfilling a dream he had as a young child.

August 17th. Almost a full year since the end of the second Titan War. Two years since Nikolai left the legion. Ten months since he began searching for his dearest friend.

"Now, where on earth do I look first…?" he mumbled, trying to avoid pacing around and running into incoming traffic. He was not about to waste the information he'd gotten from the legionnaire he'd threatened just days prior. No sir. Absolutely not. As vexingly little as it was, it was still information. Besides, Nikolai couldn't really blame them for being vague. He wouldn't easily give up the location of an important figure to a traitor either. He was lucky he hadn't been executed the second they realized who he was.

I'm so close. I just need to find him! I'm going to find him!

Nikolai fell over instead. Right. He hadn't slept in days. Or I'll just die. Yes, I will die. The second I see him, I'll just pass away. He will have one more body to bury.

"Get up, you idiot," he mumbled to himself, standing up shakily. Collapsing in public was not something he needed to do.

Damn it, he had no clue what to do. Nor where he was going. If only there was someone to guide him…

Nope. That was never happening. With his luck, he'd get torn apart by murder pigeons. But a boy could wish.

He could still wish for the gods to show him some mercy.

Mae frowns lightly as she leans down to look at the collapsed boy, pushing her tinted sunglasses up to rest on her head.

"You alive?" She nudges one of his legs with a foot, and tuts quietly.

Nikolai immediately bolts upright, looking at the girl standing over him. He's not too sure what to say, or even why she bothered to check on him, but he supposes he has to say something.

"Yeah." He tries to look like he wasn't about to just pass out on the sidewalk. "Somehow."

"Just laying on the sidewalk for fun then?" She tilts her head with a slight smile. "It's a nice day, but not that nice."

As if suddenly aware of personal space, Mae takes a step back to give Nikolai some breathing room.

"Is lying on sidewalks a common hobby of yours, or is today a one off?"

"…sure. Yeah, I, uh… I just love lying on sidewalks, haha…" Nikolai would strangle himself if he weren't in the middle of a sidewalk in a crowded city. "It's. Fun."

He stands back up, brushing off his clothes and trying to look presentable despite the severe bags under his eyes and the rats' nest on his head masquerading as hair.

"I find there are more fun ways to spend your time," Mae stares at Nikolai for a moment. "You can't seriously spend all your time lying on sidewalks?"

She studies him for a moment, as if trying to remember if they've ever met.

"Aaanyways, I'm Mae! What's your name?"

"O—Oh, um. I'm Nikolai. It's nice to meet you, Mae." Nikolai fidgets with the cuff of his sleeve for a moment before brushing a rouge strand of hair out of his face. He's not looking presentable at all. Damn it.

Nikolai continues fidgeting, this time with a lock of his hair. "And, um, y—yeah, I guess there are better things I could do with my time."

"You seem nervous - are you alright?" Mae tilts their head and put her hands in the pockets of her shorts while rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet.

"If you're lost or anything, I could help you." She blinks once, a strand of light blue hair falling over one eye.

"I—I'm alright, no worries!" Nikolai shoves his hands into his pockets to keep from fidgeting. He really shouldn't be fidgeting so much. Honestly, after going so long without sleep, he shouldn't have enough energy to even stand.

Nikolai hesitates for a moment. "It's fine. I'm not lost."

"...Right. You're sure?" Mae says, unconvinced. "You look.. unwell? Tired? You don't look 'alright', no offence."

She glances over him again, noting his dishevelled appearance.

"Yeah, I'm sure! I'm perfectly fine, I just normally look like this." Nikolai tries to ignore how obvious it is that he does not normally look so pale and tired. He also tries to ignore that the acting skills he prides himself on are not getting him through this conversation as well as he needs them to.

"Really? Are you anaemic?" She asks bluntly, trying to make his pale, tired complexion make sense to her. "Ah, sorry, that's probably a bit rude."

Mae pulls her hands from their pockets and stretches her fingers, fidgeting for alternative reasons to Nikolai.

"You're not very talkative." They observe.

"I—" Nikolai shrugs. Honestly, Mae might be onto something, though he probably won't tell them that. "Maybe."

He tilts his head at her observation. "I guess not," he replies, laughing a little.

"Hm. Maybe, huh? You seem real sure 'bout that."

Her eyes brighten at his laugh, preening at the fact that they managed to pull a non-nervous reaction from this person.

"Ah, it's not a big deal anyways. I know tons of people who barely talk, and they somehow have friends. No clue how they have friends..." Mae pulls a face as she thinks, eyebrows knitting together. "I talk a lot. Some people way I talk too much. I think that's stupid, though, because who gets to decide how much is too much? Where is the line? You know?"

"Yeah, I think I get it. I've been told that I talk too much sometimes, though I guess you wouldn't believe that." Nikolai feels his tension ease by a fraction when he sees that Mae's eyes have brightened. He likes it when he sees that kind of expression. "Sometimes, you just get super into whatever you're talking about, and you just need to say everything that comes to mind."
