Hey! I love this question cause I do have such a soft spot for dramas where the male lead is all soft for the female lead! We’re living in a pretty awesome time where for every cold male lead there’s a soft one as well so I’ve listed some of my fav kdrama, jdrama and cdrama male leads!

Angel’s Last Mission: Love - Kim Dan played by Kim Myungsoo was a literal angel! He was cute and adorable and found a childlike joy in the smallest things. Dan spent this whole show trying to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and rather than hate in the face of his problems like those that came before him, he looked to get acceptance

A Piece Of Your Mind - Moon Ha Won played by Jung Hae In was such a soft male lead that he literally spent 10 years waiting for his first love only to be knocked off his feet by Seo Woo and her kindness. Even before he liked her he was so kind to her and once he realized that he did love her, he was even more supporting and protective.

Buzzer Beat - Kamiya Naoki played by Yamashita Tomohisa is the closest to a stoic male lead on my list but more in a shy way than in a mean to others kind of way. He was honestly such a cutie from the start of this show to the end but he struggled with showing others his emotions cause he felt like he had to be strong for the people in his life

Do You Like Brahms? - Park Joon Young played by Kim Min Jae is one of the only male leads on my list that comes from a melo rather than a rom com! A lot of people are torn about whether they liked this drama or not (I loved it) but I’m sure most can agree on how soft Joon Young is for Song Ah. He smiles more around her than I’ve seen him smile around anyone else and even before they were even dating he thought about her, worried about her, and wanted to see her all the time.

Extraordinary You - Haru played by Rowoon was the silent but adoring type of character. He spent the entire show in awe of Dan Oh and followed her lead on pretty much everything. He treated Dan Oh as a person with her own wishes rather than an object that he needed unlike the second male lead

Flower Boy Next Door - Enrique Geum played by Yoon Shi Yoon was a the definition of a puppy who needed affection. Though part of his cheery disposition was a mask to hide any struggle he felt, he helped Dok Mi go out into the world again without ever pushing her too far or against her will. He cared more about her happiness than his own and would have thrown everything away for her

Go Ahead - Ling Xiao played by Song Wei Long is another male lead that’s closer to stoic than the others but that’s only because he struggles to open up to people he doesn’t know. When he’s with Jian Jian, he melts. From practically the first moment they met as kids, he’s been head-ver-heels and everything he did was done with her on his mind. Ling Xiao would practically bend space and time to make her happy simply cause she makes him happy.

He Is Psychometric - Lee Ahn played by Park Jinyoung is another puppy-like character who goes around begging for affection from those around him! He stayed so kind and sweet in a world that should have made him cold and distrustful and even when he was faced with horrible truths he tried to see it from other points of views besides his own

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay/Psycho But It’s Okay - Moon Gang Tae played by Kim Soo Hyun is an actual child in adult form but more in the emotional sense rather than in a man-baby way. Because he had to be an adult from age 10, he repressed his emotions and once he met Moon Young, he realized how much he wanted to be loved and how much love he had to give. Even when he’s irritated with Moon Young, he was protective and interested and once they got together, he was just so soft and gentle with her!

Maiden Holmes - Pei Zhao/Prince Qi played by X is another soft male lead cause he’s so kind and sweet to not only Su Ci but to everyone he meets. He doesn’t have a problem with Su Ci taking on a more traditionally masculine role and actually revels in how smart she is. He trusts her completely and even when misunderstandings appear, he works to clear them rather than get angry that she misunderstood him.

My Mr Mermaid - Tang Yi Bai played by Dylan Xiong is much too sweet for this world! I mean look at that smile! From the first moment we met Yi Bai we knew he was a sweetheart who put his friends first even at the cost of his own swimming career and would save a complete stranger without a single thought. He always tried to do the best he could for his loved ones and Yun Duo even if it wasn’t what he wanted

My Unfamiliar Family - Park Chan Hyuk played by Kim Ji Suk was another perfect specimen of a male lead because he never once did anything that wasn’t charming or kind! He loved Eun Hee secretly for almost 12 years but never made a move fearing that she would not be interested and thus ruin their friendship and because of that he never once complained about being in the friend-zone or having to act as a sounding board for Eun Hee. He even went as far as loving and caring for her siblings and family just because he loved her so much.

Oh My General - Zhao Yu Jin played by Peter Sheng was a hilariously soft male lead. This show was unique cause it seemed to switch the typical male and female leads so Ye Zhao was the soldier who was brash and strong while Yu Jin was the one who stayed at home and was soft and delicate. The best part about Yu Jin was that once he fell in love with Ye Zhao, he never once felt emasculated by her power and always tried to support her the best he could

Search: WWW - Seol Ji Hwan played by Lee Jae Wook was the absolute cutest character in this show! I fell in love with his kindness from the start like Hyeon did. This was another case where the typical male and female roles were switched cause Hyeon was the one to spend money and wave her power around. Ji Hwan also never felt emasculated or insecure about how powerful Hyeon was and even when he had to leave for the army he told her that he would be the one to wait 

Shopping King Louie - Louis played by Seo In Guk was the most precious little bean in this show and he made you want to smother him in affection. He was so in love with Bok Shil and he never tried to hide it. Everything he did was sincere and earnest and he had the best intentions even if things didn’t work out right

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - Ahn Min Hyuk played by Park Hyungsik is pretty much the first soft male lead I think of anytime this question comes up and I mean can you blame me? This man has literal emotional breakdowns at the thought of how beautiful and sweet and amazing his girlfriend is! He never once disparaged Bong Soon’s strength or treated her like a damsel unlike the second male lead and he never made Bong Soon feel like she needed to hide anything from him

Sweet Combat - Ming Tian played by Luhan is another male lead who’s so soft for his badass female lead. While Fang Yu worried that she was too strong and not girly enough for Ming Tian to like her, he was in love from almost the first moment he saw her strength. He always believed in her and was ready to silently adore her in the background if that’s what she wanted

The Beauty Inside - Ryu Eun Ho played by Ahn Jae Hyun was another male lead who was practically an angel inside and out. He was the cutest house husband to Sa Ra from the start and he never once felt emasculated or insecure about her money or when she gave him gifts and he even agreed to be the bride when she proposed to him. He thought she was the absolute coolest for being the smart independent ambitious woman that she was and he never once asked her to change anything about herself for him.

The Romance Of Tiger And Rose - Han Shuo played by Ryan Ding is another puppy in human form of a male lead!! Ugh he might straight up be one of the most soft male leads on my list and I have a ton! From almost the moment he met Xiao Qian he was in love and would do literally anything for her including things she didn’t even want but he thought she did. His perfect life would have just been following around Xiao Qian!

When The Camellia Blooms - Hwang Young Shik played by Kang Ho Neul is one of the most recent soft male leads I’ve watched and I found him absolutely adorable. From the moment he meets the female lead he falls head over heels in love with her and he has no problem shouting it out for the world to know and nothing could keep him away from her. Not the fact that she’s a single mom or a bar owner or hated in the neighborhood or that her ex is always lingering or that his mom disapproves. He honestly gets so proud whenever she stands up for herself or does something badass and had no problem crying!

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - Jung Joon Hyung played by Nam Joo Hyuk is another soft male lead that people think of automatically when the thought comes up and though he wasn’t my favorite soft male lead I can see why he is for others. He loved Bok Joo no matter how worried she was about her weight or appearance and supported whatever she wanted to do whether that was seducing his own brother or staging a protest

You Are My Glory - Yu Tu played by Yang Yang is another soft male lead that’s quiet and withdrawn rather than energetic but none of that stops him from practically worshipping the ground the woman he loves walks on. Yu Tu was kind even before he fell in love and though he struggled with his insecurities over not being good enough once he got over that hurdle he pretty much did anything and everything he could for his girl.
