She's Dreaming.

“It is easier to love you when you are not near me, when you are just a few blocks away, smiling and laughing yourself away at some joke with your friends and family. I love you best when you are far, far away.”

“There she was again, sitting at the corner of the cafe with a book opened next to a cup of espresso on the table. She looked up as I entered the cafe, and her gaze landed on me. I could not look away. Then she gave me a smile. A gentle, loving smile. The kind that would make you want to be the reason behind it. A precious smile it was. A soulful smile it was. But somehow, I noticed the hollowness in her eyes. The kind of eyes that hid pain awfully well, the kind that would make you wonder what they witnessed, that drained out the soul in them. They looked so sad, so dim, compared to the smile she wore on her face. And that was when I realized, that a person’s soul never lived behind their lips. Their soul was always behind the look in their eyes.”
