KHx is finally gonna end soon huh?
fucking finally
i made marluxia in ff14. no i will not take criticismÂ
STARSHOLD
this stranger knows his name , & yet ventus is sure theyâve never met. heâd remember someone with pink hair. & yetâŚ..& yet the man before him does seem familiar to him , ven thinks. itâs all quite strange , so much of his own existence is a mystery to him , itâs like ventus barely knows himself. he doesnât like that , & his face contorts in thought before he shakes his head & a dull throb forms in his head. memories that are hidden too far below the surface for him to reach , a distant dream , people he once knew. maybe chirithy would know. he should ask it later.Â
â iâm sorry, have weâŚmet ?? you seemâŚ.sort of familiar. âÂ
he canât place a name , no , but thatâs not what makes him uneasy now. the throbbing in his head grows slightly & he shuts his eyes for a moment , lips pursed before he sighs , shaking his head & crossing his arms. right now , it was too much to think about for something he wasnât certain of.
As the time passes, and the conversation draws on, reality sinks deeper into his soul. The childish dream that everything would return to normal, that he would lay in dandelions with the dead, and continue in the dream of a happy tomorrow was never fit to last. Only to be that of a fleeting dream. There is a sickness in him that grows, unable to be quelled as he is made to sit with this reality dug for him. Staring at the boy he once knew.Â
Lauriam opens his mouth to speak. To spill everything and anything that he could out to Ventus. To tell him the story of the war, of the Union Leaders, of what the two of them were fit to do. It rests on his tongue. The opening to his story-- to their story. Once upon a time....
But was it his right to tell the other? To grapple with a normal existence was hard enough, but to remember everything before than would almost be unbearable. It felt unfair, to everyone. â... we met a long time ago. Before you came here.â Perhaps it was best to rebuild. âI was apart of the Organization before Sora saved me.â He stands alone in his grief. âI was called Marluxia. but now I am Lauriam.âÂ
He is still. âDo you really not remember?âÂ
STARSHOLD
@killingbladeâ.   /   liked for ventus.
itâs not often they get visitors , let alone ones without keyblades . not that ven can say he minds very much , that is whatâŚ..what used to go on here. he blinks up at the man , as if studying him , & the vague uneasiness in his chest grows , he doesnât like it.Â
â âŚare you here to see aqua ?? â
Passing visits and sight seeing should have set his soul at ease upon his return of the flesh. Jagged rocks, lush green before him, and the new palace of keyblade wielders. Or... what would have been. Sometimes he forgets he is perceivable. More than nothing. Human now.Â
âVen..!â It takes him off guard once that he is noticed. It takes him off guard again at the vacant stare. Expecting something to have nothing. The emotion is familiar, and not, all at once. An awkward silence waiting only to gain nothing but the slow cruel reality. Â
  â....â
âIts... me.â For his silver tongue of a past life, the words weigh awfully heavy. âRemember?âÂ

HOLLOWTUNE
off - tune, the plucked chord sounds that much louder.  hollowed by shared company, itâd lost its pace long before his fingers had fumbled in their glided march.  before demyx had stooped to choking the music into a silence that lended itself better towards a temper that flared.  brief.  stowed away behind furrowed brows and the quiet marluxia had initially asked for.  his hostage for as long as it took to explore an impromptu conversation and decide just how much of it he was willing to tolerate, if any.  seek an endgame that would or wouldnât salvage the tatters of a good mood gone shooed.
â youâre  not  my guest. â  like the thorns he played with, ripe for the pruning and caught up in a side that hardly managed its bite.  harder to listen to than he was to look at.  maybe thatâs why it was easier to stare at the gaps where stars used to hang.  flickered out and leaving an impression that overturned his chill further.  that relaxed slouch thatâd last the night.  the one that met a shiver and slipped legs out from their fold to stretch long in front of him.   â and i donât need you ruining the atmosphere, man. â  the ambiance. what already wobbled, off - kilter and wrong for the humidity swollen in wait in the air.  a rolling thunder in the nearing distance.  a storm suited for his pulled frown.  or because of it.
â speak for yourself. â  and only himself.
existence.. feelings.  where belonging ended and the unnatural thrum that countered the sentiment quivered the area around them.  shook with his lean forward.  the heft that seated his sitar back where he wanted it.  a familiar weight that stole away at a foreign burden the otherâs words seemed determined to lay upon unwilling shoulders.  like the point to prove wasnât well enough known already.  drilled in when his breaths caught or the feeling of old hunger asserted itself against a rationale that argued none of them  really  needed to eat.  none of them needed to sleep.. to talk.  and he, straightened against expectations, didnât need to pluck those first, somber notes.   â i  exist plenty. â
It was not hard for Marluxia to take from his surroundings. Joyful moods gone dead. A heartened laugh drawn to silence. It was easy for him to ruin what brought others joy, simply by being. A noose slung over a tree, a bundle of flowers brought to a funeral-- it was his way of being, simple in his existence. But what could one expect from a pretend reaper playing in his doll-like garden of plastic fruit. He hated to think how similar he and Xemnas were, one who played with human hearts, the other who played with poisoned fruit.Â
âIâm sure your rain will bring it back.â He shifts slightly. Tucking pink strands behind his ear as he turns away from the city. Away from the imaginary people and the fake lights. The imagination of a world filled with living breathing people that had things to do every day in and out. Would Marluxia laughed at himself for admitting that unnerved him? Not that he ever would deign to acknowledge it. Blue eyes take to Demyx again, sluggish movements that follow a gaze heavenward, then back to earth.
âI know you do.â There isnât a bit of a joke hidden in his words. For once there is no second meaning, no second story to tell. For once, he speaks without riddles. He believes in Demyx as much as Demyx believes in those words himself. Even if Demyxâs existence was as empty as the stars that vanished, or Marluxiaâs existence as fleeting as death that took them. âDo you think I would believe those patronizing speeches?â There is a scoff, a shrug. He looks away from Demyx. âThough, I hardly believe anyone does.âÂ
âA cult is not fit to last if one or more do not believe in their mantra. Donât you agree?â
STRELITZIA
Her feet were staying back and forth as she was, honestly, enjoying that sunny day. Sure, maybe it was a bit warm but staying by the fountain was enough to make the air cool enough to be at least bearable. Or at least not have the urge to throw herself into the water even tho she was close to start considering that possibility. In all honesty, the redhead couldnât even imagine how Lauriam was standing it.
Her face brighed up at the idea of ice cream, Certaintly that would be a great way to fight the summer heat and who knew, maybe they would have new flavors too! She knew she would love to try something new! Strelitzia got up, following her brotherâs cue. âLetâs go then! There should be a line alread!âÂ
Green eyes widened at the mention of herâŚ. friend and she was quickly to shake her head in exasperatio. Oh she knew that smile very well! The girl puffed her cheeks.
âYou know itâs not like this!â Strelitzia replied, playing with one of her pigtails. âWe.. are not friends yet.â
A gentle laughter came from Lauriam seeing his sister puff up. A gentle tease, a careful prod, never too much, but never too little. In all honesty, he was quite happy to see Strelitzia go out making friends-- or attempting to. Which was what really mattered in the end, that she was trying to leave her comfort zone and be more assertive and out going. He held his hands behind his back, a smile turning into a smirk as he bent at the waist, his hands against his back. âWell maybe today might be the day.â Though his appearance might have been mischievous, it was his genuine wish that Strelitzia would formally introduce herself to her not-yet friend.
âI can give you moral support from the side-lines.â There was a little pose in the way he straightened his posture. Like the model big brother coming to the rescue. Even if it was just side support. Lauriam may as well look back at this in embarrassment. âI heard plenty of friendships started with sea salt ice cream.â
I made a page for the changes that I have for Marluxia that is different from canon (or in general how I interpret Marluxia/Nobodies). You can read what I wrote down here:
I interpret Nobodies differently than game canon. I maintain that they do not exist, however I go a step further and claim that many people do not notice them at all unless they make their presence known and often times they will forget them entirely. They are not normally perceivable, nor memorable. They are an affront to nature, and disrupt the natural order of things.
Further, Marluxiaâs element is not only nature, but death, and to an extent time (similar to Luxord). NATURE: He has an incomplete control over the natural world. Plants abide to his command, but they can refuse to if they so desire. The plants that Marluxia creates from his will are under his complete control and are literal pieces of him. He can use these parts of himself to track, control, or grow by his command. When he dies, those plants fade away. DEATH: Can communicate with the dead and hinder their ability to enter the afterlife. He can give spirits a body and form, however when he dies, so too will they. TIME: Can essentially shorten the time someone has left to live via doom. Literally like Luxord in another way.
He does not die in Re:Com but rather exhausts his powers and left to linger as a spirit in Castle Oblivion. MX finds and retrieves him to turn him into a vessel.
"It would be so easy to let my fate just carry me away⌠following this same path my whole life through. But I know I canât. What I do, I doâŚwith no regrets."
this is your story // always accepting
Fate. Destiny. The word synonymous with pain.
He understood what the other meant well. A hazy reflection of himself-- in body, though not in soul. Those that were not meant to exist, managing to crawl on their hands and feet to avoid a fate that was suppose to take them so many years ago. A room to be sunk beneath the water, kept only at bay by tireless work to keep themselves from drowning. Marluxia would have laughed given how similar they were. Â
To fight against destiny was a tireless battle. A battle never won, and a battle that would end always in tears. The souls he reaped, the souls he touched, it seemed this was his truth of fate-- a truth sung by the dead. A truth that Marluxia so woefully lived in his own non-existence. They could never be complacent with fate, knowing well they would fade away into nothing, and be forgotten forever.  He wondered if he would meet this other on the far shores of hell.
The topic better suited for his fellow âco-workerâ Luxord. That oneâs life, that oneâs love, the whims of fate, and the gamble and payoff of it. His game the tireless dance between death and life. Ironic given how similar he and Marluxia were-- though he supposed Luxord was the soft continuation of that circle of fate, and Marluxia was the bitter final curtain of red: death.
âHow commendable.â He smiles that same smile. And wonders if it is similar to the otherâs smile. Their bodies featured the same wavering will. The voice a similar cryptic tune. At least the other could feel. Marluxia, on the other hand, left with nothing. âIt is a privileged to be able to say you will go against fate without regrets,â Marluxia muses. âI have met many corpses that tell me they would have been content withering their lives away on the sea of fate. Rarely a soul that tells me they are happy with their end against it. Those I find have the better stories to tell.â
Indeed, those that died without regrets, always had the better story to sing. Their hymn of the dead a more beautiful song. His look is almost somber, staring down the other spirit. That was really all they were, the two of them. Souls with barely a body. Only the figment of the imagination to suit the flesh that saw them. Normalized. Normal. So others would not turn. A hint of melancholy. âI look forward to hearing yours in the afterlife.â Â
i still am taking those ff10 ask memes. hint hint

In the breeze carries small droplets of water from the fountain where most come and go. A welcome breeze in Summer, and even more welcome is the cold water that barely drifts and kisses Lauriamâs skin. There is a part of him that wants to lean back far enough to dip his head in the water, and another part of him that wants to rush out into the nearby ocean and dance in the glittering basin of the sea.Â
Both are tempting, but there is a certain amount of âpublic upkeepâ that he needed to maintain. Or maybe he was just that full of himself to think people cared when most people felt as if they were physically melting into the streets. What he would give to control water. Or rain. Or even ice. But of course he had to be blessed with a useless power (for this specific moment). There is a long, drawn out exhale from his lips as he turns his head towards his sister who looked almost equal in the suffering department.
There had to be something better than sitting here and hoping it got cooler. âLetâs go get ice cream,â he blurted out. Lauriam stood from his seat, fanning his face slightly. âMaybe thatâll cool us down.â A smile slowly etched upon his face, more teasing than innocent. âWho knows, maybe your friend will be there.â
⨳ â FINAL FANTASY X;
send one for my muse's reaction!
âListen to my story. ThisâŚmay be our last chance. â âErr, âhelly doo sad weeâ to you, too.â âPeople die, [name] dances.â âThis is my story. Itâll go the way I want itâŚor Iâll end it here!â âYou knowâŚfor the first time, Iâm gladâŚto have you as my father.â âI know it sounds selfish, but this is my story!" "I hate your plan. It sucks." "Youâll cry. Youâre gonna cry. You always cry. See? Youâre cryinâ." "Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!" "Life is but a passing dream, but the death that follows is eternal." "Even for a little while, people can sleep in their beds without being afraid. That kind of time is worth anything. Donât say it isnât worth it.â "Memories are nice, but thatâs all they are." "I shouldnât have to say this, but donât fall in love with her." "No matter how dark the night, morning always comes and our journey begins anew." "The people and the friends that we have lostâŚor the dreams that have fadedâŚnever forget them.â âYour hope ends here⌠and your meaningless existance with it!â "They were truly an elegant rage. They threw themselves at me to bar my path. One by one." "Well, if youâre offering your lives, I will have to take them." "Hope isâŚcomforting. It allows us to accept fate, however tragic it might be." "Thinking isnât solving anything!" "Every story must have an ending." "Outside the dream world, life can be harshâeven cruel, but it is life." "No no no, when I say âWhats our Goal??â, you say, âVictory!!!â" "Touch me with that hand and Iâll remove it.â âIf he dies, youâll never be able to tell him how much you hate him." "Oh, whatâs the matter? Gonna cry again? Cry, cry. Thatâs the only thing youâre good for!" "So whatâs your goal this time? You gonna 'do your bestâ again? Ha! Itâs too bad your best isnât good enough! Why even bother showing up?" "This plan wonât work, you know that. Weâll just let them dream a little longer." "Boy, donât forget those words, 'cause if you doâŚIâm gonna make you regret it." "Well, thatâs a lame way to kill someone." "Stay with me till the end. Please." "Iâm scared of lightning! Letâs rest, please? Pretty please?" "I hadnât really laughed like that in a long time." "I want my journeyâŚto be full of laughter." "You have to choose: die and be free from pain, or live and fight the sorrow!" "I want to ask you..to be my guardian." "Youâre hiding something from meâŚ" "Iâd tell you if something was wrong." âIâve⌠learned how to smile⌠Even when Iâm feeling sad.â âIf we should get separated, just whistle. Iâll come running. I promise.â âIsnât it wonderful, to walk together holding hands? I do so want to go, to your city, your house, into your arms.â "It would be so easy to let my fate just carry me away⌠following this same path my whole life through. But I know I canât. What I do, I doâŚwith no regrets." "You are a fading dream, but one that has been touched by reality. Run, dream. Run on into the daylight. STALWART SENTENCE STARTERS | OPEN @killingbladeâ:  âSit and listen. Quietly just be. Exist. Nothing more.â
when it was his choice, the quiet held comfort.  it smoothed out the headaches from the day and carried echoes like a tune.  spared him the aches when he slouched, consequences of trudging through missions with an air of false interest.  enough to smother irritation and the other negatives that came from unwelcome company orâ
without his  sidekick,  marluxia wasnât unbearable.  he didnât chirp like larxene or cast judgement so openly.  he didnât swallow up the air around him or leave a foul taste in his mouth  â  both things that were best left untouched.  but that sounded like an order.  a frustrating reprisal of an old conversation that wouldâve been better left where itâd started.  without the rank to dangle over his head the insistence bordered a line of condescension that put the twitch to demyxâs fingers and cornered bright eyes gone dark.   â i was here first. â
heâd not been sitting at the time and resentment seeded for a failure to stay the motion when heâd had the chance.  argue some idea of having a say when heâd already listened.. sort of.
â youâre not normally out here, go somewhere else if you donât wanna hear it, dude. â  the sitar thatâd had a home across his lap most nights but felt all the more intentional, now, for the obstinate way heâd taken that first strum.  set the chords at a quiver and it was easier to ignore that shadow blooming so wide across from him.   â youâre not even supposed to be here. â
The aches of the shadows rose towards heavens, and fell into the blackened abyss of the empty hollow which used to sit his soul. Whatever noise, strums, or hymns that waved through the air did not become consumed like the mayflies falling after a few days. But more the carnivorous plants which furled gently around them to eat them whole. A smell of a funeral, coupled with the seemingly dead notes of the sitar and the noise of an ocean breeze. Practically a somber beach pyre.Â
Though it sounded more of someone drowning, rather than fires that burned. âIf you were here first, then would you not want to ensure that your guest is comfortable?â It is an almost snide remark that borders on a genuine question and mock stupidity. One could say, somewhere in between. The smile on his face is almost there. The glee of the unknown of his words were more in crystalline blue eyes than anything. Practically unnerving. But he slowly shifts away, finding the appearance of Demyx to be boring? Not entertaining enough? For Marluxia. Staring out into the wide berth of city-scape and nothing. Rain had begun.Â
âPerhaps not, but I do not keep a place I 'normallyâ stay.â The pretty smile stays on his face, listening to the howls of the night. âAnd yet I find this place to be better for its silence than it is for acoustics.â Body sways. Almost like the wind. âBut really Demyx, we both arenât suppose to exist anyway.â The joke is in his words. And though it seemed the natural joke, the most common within the Organization (how many times have they cracked that before? almost a broken record at this point no matter how many times they try to rip and shred it apart). Marluxia almost seems as if he really is the last one laughing.
