So someone asked me to describe anxiety. It took me a minute then I thought of two great examples. 1: Sleezy Michanic: "Your blinker fluid is low and you need to get some more." You: "Ha ha thats funny. I know blinker fluid isn't a thing." *Awkward laugh* SM: *blank stare* Your inner monologue: What's he staring at? Blinker fluid is not a thing... I'm smart enough to know that's not a thing... Well what if I'm wrong and I need blinker fluid? Then I cause a wreck due to not signaling correctly.... No that's ridiculous blinker fluid isn't a thing don't be stupid... but then again why would he tell me I needed it if it isn't a thing? Maybe I should ask where I get some... No it's not a real thing. Just keep laughing or he'll think I'm an idiot. Omg I've laughed too long now I look like a moron... Don't panic, just go sit in the corner away from everyone and google blinker fluid before you embarass yourself further. 2: There is an alien in MIB 3 who can simultaneously see every possible future all at once. Having anxiety is exactly like that but instead of being able to enjoy the best ones you focus on all the possibilities that could go wrong. With emphasis on the absolute worst possibility. You focus on it so long you avoid anything that could cause that eventuality. Running exhausts you and you become scared of the entire situation even if it's going well. If it happens or comes too close to happening you completely break down and have an anxiety attack. Just my ideas on how to explain anxiety.
