Not truth.
No politician in the United States is Hitler. No politician in the United States is a Nazi (unless they are openly part of the American movement, if which case they would never get elected). To even try to make the comparison is insulting. To anyone. It is a profound misunderstanding of not only what a Nazi is, but politics in general.
Hitler killed millions of people. His own people. Concurred people. By the millions. My family. I dare, I fucking dare you, to even try to look me in the face and tell me this. Iâm a nonviolent person by practice, but that is too far.
Genocide of any kind is never a joke, and should never be used to make cheap politcal jokes. Never. I donât care if you donât like Obama, heâs not Hitler. I donât care that you donât like Bush, heâs not Hitler either.
[edit for a pretty big typo]
People are too emotional for the internet. No one is comparing obama to hitler, its probably the comparison of the two as ideas.
1933 was when Hitler came to power after about 5-6 years of gaining massive power because of the late â20âs and early â30âs economic depression and enacted huge changes to Germany that resulted in the Holocaust and WW2.
Nice try though. Sorry, but when you make the analogy, it is pretty obvious the intended statement. Even if it isnât, drawing a comparison to bills in 2011 (however wrong or frightening) is not the same a systematic killing of millions of people. Sorry that that outrageous statement got an outrageous response from me.
Good discussion, i found out a lot from it. Mainly that images need to be more clarified. Before reading the comments i thought they were talking about the rise of fascism in both nations, but that may have been cuz i didnât know that hitler was elected in 1933 >.> but yeaa⌠like i guess Obama to hItler comparison woulda been cloer to America 2009 (obama election) or 1933 germany? @.@ iono jus my two cents :)
The United Snakes is the best example of a fascist society, not Germany.
So it only matters when genocide is domestic? What about the 3000 or so tons of depleted uranium the US left floating around Iraq? That 4.5 billion year half life just committed those people to generational genocide. And that's ignoring the several million directly killed by the US invasion.

Since the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City and around the US and the globe, there has been a constancy of criticism coming from the entrenched establishment and its would-be supporters. Itâs easy enough to ignore the banality and mindlessness of the...
My friends and I blockading the port of Houston
I told the jailer who booked me into county that they are killing the planet. She told me I was fighting back the wrong way. I said, âFine, then tell me how. Should I write a letter? Should I ask nicely? Should I vote for a bought and sold politician? What will work?â
She understood. âThe world is run on greed. I donât know what would work.â
âThen the only thing a person of conscience can do is put their body in the way.â

If you are in a city with a port Occupation this Monday, GO! This needs to be the biggest day of Occupy action yet, and it has the potential to really hit the elites in their wallet. This is a great âOccupy the Machineâ action, and thus applies to those who are DGR minded.
If you are in a...
Occupy the Gulf
Some big numbers are getting predicted for the Occupation of the Port of Houston on Monday. If you are in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, or any other Texas town or city within a reasonable distance to Houston, get your ass down there!Â
Texas. Occupy. Anarchy.
The fourth installment of the podcast, Grow Food, Raise Hell. I talk about the land giving people a meaning to living when they are a part of it, a part of natureâs cycles.Â
Straight white boys are probably the reasons why I can't be friends with straight white boys.
And thatâs not my fault. Itâs like an allergy.Â
I'd be your friend, but I live far away.

Weâve been living in Austin for 9 months now. Hereâs a list of things I learned about the state of Texas and in particular, the city of Austin:
1. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone in this state is a hard-line, right wing, Republican.
2. Concurrent with popular belief, nearly everyone in this state possesses at least 1 firearm.
3. Finding a bad BBQ restaurant here is more difficult than deciding on the best BBQ restaurant.
4. But everyone knows the best BBQ is in Lockhart, TX.Â
5. Most people in Texas, in Austin and Houston especially, cannot drive (this coming from someone who lived in Los Angeles for 5 years).
6. In the city of Austin, everyone has worked or will at some point, work for Dell.
7. Donât waste your time with the local weather report.
8. The 360 loop in Austin is some of the worst road in Texas. Avoid it at all costs.
9. Donât be surprised when total strangers ask you about your day. Nearly everyone here is generally very friendly.
10. Shiner Bock beer is perhaps the best beer in the world.
I will never stop reminding transplants to this Great State:
Do not mistake southern hospitality for friendliness.
Aside from that, have a nice day, and yall come back now, yâhear??
Iâve lived in the South for a long time: different parts of NC and GA, and have visited other Southern states. I always wondered about Southern hospitality and where the idea of it came from because I never saw it ⌠until I went to Texas, haha. I was in Dallas for a school conference thing a couple years ago and everyone was so damn nice. I went to the bathroom and while I was peeing some random woman started a conversation with me, asking me where I was from and stuff. It would have been weird if another woman hadnât of done it the day before too, haha. Everyone seemed okay with chatting with you for a few minutes, which is so unlike other parts of the South. If I tried to just make friendly conversation with anyone here, I would know how much of an inconvenience Iâm being to the other person, hahaha.
Most of this is true. Â I have never worked for Dell though, and know that I never will. Â I also don't eat animals that I haven't killed and prepared myself, so I'm not sure about the BBQ thing. Â I have heard the best is in Lockhart, where the best local shooting range also happens to be, also confirming my gun ownership.
Texans are generally friendly I find, but then again, I'm a white guy in a plaid shirt with a beard, a banjo, and a truck, who rides horses, raises livestock, and goes shooting -- so I may not be the best judge.
âTo revolt is a natural tendency of life. Even a worm turns against the foot that crushes it. In general, the vitality and relative dignity of an animal can be measured by the intensity of its instinct to revolt.â
Mikhail Bakunin (via growfoodraisehell)
You saw me on the bridge, and were mad that I and my friends blocked traffic, and made you late for your engagement. You saw me at the bank barricading the entrance, and were again frustrated by the disruption to your day. You saw me at the speaking engagement, screaming in unison over the man at...
This critique is fucking great. Â Well done.
servile-masses-arise:
I just reblogged something about this, but thinking about it has totally enraged me and Iâve decided to rant onwards ⌠. Also because I see this as part of a concerted effort on behalf of the âliberalâ (poor word, how degraded you are) academics of America to undermine...
Occupational Hazards
outside-the-circle:
The forces of power-from-above are circling around us, it seems, at many of our occupations, using âwhatever means necessaryâ or at hand to tear us apart and destroy our fledgling experiments in crafting a safer, self-governing, egalitarian society. We all need to breath. Stay calm. And try our damnest to outsmart them by taking the high ground, by outorganizing them from below. I want usâhumanity and the nonhuman worldâto win this time around.

Duffy
A lot of this talk of heritage, appropriation, and kilts/tartans made me want to post some of my own familial tradition:
I am of the Duffy Clan. Â There is a tartan, which is green, yellow, and black.
Irish derivation: Ă Dubhthaigh
Name meaning: "Descendant of the dark one"
Counties associated with the name: Monaghan
Coat of arms motto: "Like Lightening."
On my father's side, the Duffy's came to America in the early 20th century. Â My grandfather John was born here. Â He spoke Gaelic, and would do so for me when I was a child. Â He fought in World War two, earned a bronze star for bravery, and never told anyone what for. Â Out of respect, none in our family will research his medal.
On my mother's side, I am a Smith. Â My great grandfather was a New York City firefighter, my grandfather a sailor in the Pacific during World War two. Â
After the war, both sides of my family have primarily consisted of railroad men. Â My grandmother on my father's side was a stay at home mom, and my mother's mother sold real estate.
All of my grand parents have passed away. Â I remain extremely proud of my Irish heritage, though consider myself American, despite the tremendous amount of bullshit the U.S. government has propagated on the people of the world. Â
I work now as an activist to build bridges between races, genders, and creeds to emancipate ourselves from the shackles of the state, of capitalism, and of the brutal ideologies of "civilization."
