Considering that, as Chat Noir, he has endangered a lot of people, causes harmed and royally screw things up to the point he decided to give up his Miraculous, he was really hoping that Marinette would be giving him a chance, aka a last hope to hold onto about this whole trip.

But when Marinette doesn’t even speak out for him, fight back for him like she did speak out for his father to let him go, the last remaining glimpse of hope he had vanishes from his face.
