On December 31, 2013, Max's owner noticed he was acting sluggish. Concerned, she took him to the emergency vet. She was told it was a strained muscle and not to worry. However, a bump on his head revealed Max had a cancerous tumor, with surgery he would likely receive a positive prognosis. The following morning on New Years day, max was paralyzed from the waist down. It was discovered that max had an out of place disc that wash crushing his spinal cord. He was rushed in for emergency spinal surgery and has a 50/50 chance of regaining movement. Max's medical bills are already over $4,500 and will continue to rise.
