You might know by now that I love revisiting old designs and remaking them. The 2nd photo shows the original pendants. Honestly, I knew as soon as I made them that I wasn't comfortable selling them. The metal I used was just too thin for me to be comfortable selling. Yes, delicate is good but I would be worried that the metal would bend and/or break with any kind of normal wear and tear. So, they just sat in a box, not going to shows. This week, I took them out, removed the stones from the bezels and removed the bezels from the keys. Then, I cleaned up the key shapes and soldered them on new backplates, created bails and soldered on new bezels. Then I set the aquamarine and peridot. Sadly, the garnet key melted during the process of removing the bezel so I put the garnet aside for a future project and melted the key completely down to a ball. I will hammer the metal down and make something new from it. Let me know, do you like the new look? They are definitely more sturdy now and I htink they look pretty cool! They're 1 3/4 inches long and 1/2 an inch wide at the top. #sleepycatjewelry #keynecklace #keypendant #redo #silversmith #metalsmith #remake #OOAKjewelry #rusticjewelry #makersgonnamake #njartist #madebyhand #jewelryartist https://www.instagram.com/p/CfxThdHrzfb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
