"As I Walked Out" is an older orchestration I created to a Kentucky Mountain song. I am kind of a cut-rate Bartok if he had no hands.
Charming Beauty Bright- A Kentucky mountain song orchestrated for medieval instruments that somehow developed an asian flair.
Posting in the interest of just posting how far I've gotten.
Self-Crit:
-shifting gears too fast. Not letting themes develop.
-some oddball rhythms
Classical composition opening using the Freygish D scale because I am practicing it a lot on my clarinet. I can't write anything over two minutes so from here on out it's short and maximalist.

Playing with a whole tone scale after learning it was a great favorite of Thelonious Monk. Using my favorite instrument- the clarinet supported by a trio of trombones.
Titled: January #1
Short 20-second sketch written for trumpet, cello and hand drum in E minor. For a certain value of "finished" it's my first entry for my Song-A-Week Project.
Song-A-Week Project is a sketchbook for musical ideas. Itβs not meant to create polished works, but to allow me to experiment and take away ideas while also charting some of my progress and keeping my producing.
WIP #2
January #1, key of E min. For hand drum, cello and trumpet. Changed trumpet freakout in middle and extended it. Not too sure about the bottom end in beginning. Too cluttered?
New WIP. Trumpet, hand drums and cello
