Scored super awesome kitchen stuff for Christmas this year. My dad got me a #kitchenaidmixer in gun metal gray, an #instantpot from my mother and father-in-law, brand new knives from my brother-in-law, and a new cookbook, #dinnerinaninstant from my sister-in-law @sajomc ! All this is going to give me an awesome start to my year. You guys rock. This morning's peanut butter and chocolate smoothie is based of @ruledme 's Peanut Butter Caramel Milkshake...SO DELICIOUS. #ketolife #keto 3/4 c. Water 1/4 c. Heavy Whipping Cream 1 TBSP. #lilyschocolatechips 2 TBSP. Peanut Butter 2 TBSP. #Torani SF Salted Caramel Syrup 7-9 Ice Cubes Pinch of salt You could also just sub your favorite nut milk for the water and HWC. Just throw all in a blender and go to town!

Just bought my first #keto supplement. Guess sh*t is getting real up in here.

This morning's weigh in and white chocolate frozen coffee. Slowly but surely ditching the water weight! I'm not a huge coffee person, but I've reached the insomnia stage of my #ketoflu and I needed a boost. Recipe as follows: 1c. Coffee of choice 2TBSP Heavy Whipping Cream 2c. Ice (I like lots of ice, so feel free to play with this) 1/2 scoop of protein powder of choice (I used #Bobsredmill vanilla powder) 2TBSP #Torani sugar free white chocolate syrup 1tsp vanilla extract Throw it all in a strong blender and whizz to your preferred texture! I'm not a big #proteinpowder gal, but this vanilla from #Bobsredmill is pretty good! Probiotics, chia seeds, great vanilla flavor and sweetened with monk fruit. #keto #ketolife

Blood test results! The white paper (swipe left)results are from a health assessment in August that I did for work. Not terrible by any means. I have a predisposition to high #cholesterol, so I was actually pleased to do as well as I did. At the time, my triglycerides were the only concern at the time being. The blue sticky note with my crazy handwriting and notations are the results from last week after almost a month of keto. One mitigating factor: the night before these tests were taken, I broke my carb restriction. As a result, I'm completely disregarding my glucose level and I'll retest at a later date. I have NO idea how fast my cholesterol levels would have been affected, but I have to take something away from this! My triglycerides went WAY down - yay! My HDL went up - yay! My LDL went up - ...less yay. My overall number went up by 15. My doc knows about my change in diet and she says she's not concerned at this point. I'm going to get the blood panel done again in 6 months. Anyone else have cholesterol concerns when starting keto? #keto #ketolife

Morning weigh in. I know...you shouldn't weigh everyday. But if I don't I start to lose track of my motivation...and I have control issues. Go figure, right? Anyhow...yesterday was hard. #ketoflu is killer. Huge migraine in the evening and super tired. I have today off, so it's going to be a struggle to stay out of the fridge. I'm doing my fast until noon, then lunch. But! On the plus side, my water weight is already dropping off AND it's grocery ad day so I can do my #mealplan for next week! I love #adday Again, will post blood test before and after later on. Go #keto !

I have struggled with my weight a lot over the years, particularly after the birth of my son 6 years ago. I’ve tried diet after diet, never really finding one that worked and was sustainable as a lifestyle change for me. Then at the beginning of December I thought…what the hell. Let’s try #keto. And it WORKED. I gave it 3 weeks to see how I did. I lost about 7lbs! Then Christmas came and I dove headfirst into carbs again. Partly because of the holiday and partly to see what would happen. I like to test the flexibility of a diet and see how the results are tested by old habits. In just a few days, I’ve gained back all the weight I lost…NOT through extravagant over eating…almost all of that weight is water retention due to my extreme carb switch. Today I restarted my #keto journey. Am I experiencing #ketoflu symptoms? Oh you bet. But I’m drinking water like crazy and doing everything I can to accelerate past this. I just have to remember how good it felt for that scale to be on the losing side for a change. Tomorrow I’ll be posting my blood test results before and after my #ketolife started. Some good, and some not so good on there.
