(Turquoise x implied fem! Reader, reader wears makeup here, lots and lots of yearning, as soon as I saw him I knew I had to write for him lol, around 500 words so pretty short, not beta read, I love this man so much you have no idea...) @plcma peak visual novel btw
"Whatcha think of my makeup?"
Turquoise blinks once, then twice before the haze in his eyes returns to normal. The two of you were in the park, and not his cold apartment where he'd spend his time scrolling through your socials and taking notes of your little selfies. This time, instead of being met with a bare faced you, you who laid your expressions completely without any barricade between the two of you, it was you wearing strikingly bold makeup.
"I never thought you were the artistry type?"
"Believe me I'm not," you made a gesture corresponding to the scoff that escaped your lips right after your words. "But I did stumble upon a makeup tutorial while I was doomscrolling yesterday... Don't ask me what time it was."
He chuckled, then, "I would never, it may be a new sight but I think it fits you wonderfully."
Turquoise was always a keen observer in regards to you. His eyes normally rake through your body whenever the two of you meet, the design and color of your sweater, the chain of your necklace. Of course, your beautiful hands were his favorite, fingernails either chopped short for ease or kept long for aesthetics. But, his second favorite thing to observe were your pretty eyes. People didn't call eyes the "window to the soul" for nothing after all.
The eyes, which bore such an intensity stating at his that a flush grew to his ears.
Back then, he would often get lost in your eyes. Watching the light of the streetlight reflect on your iris, he'd admire every detail and every swirl of color, no matter how light or dark. It was an easier feat when you were rambling off on your day, oblivious to his intense gaze. However, the makeup you've applied now, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow and all, accentuated your already wonderful features until all he could think of were the irises blinking and piercing into his own soul.
"I got reminded of you when doing the eyeshadow, that's why it's turquoise too."
His breath hitched for a moment. Gods you were going to be the death of him, a direct confirmation of his vestige being ever present in your mind? It was practically an award for all the times he carefully adjusted and curated to your own amicable personality.
Yet, award as it was he still couldn't take his eyes off of yours.
Your eyes, holding that slight lining of boldness to your kind features, your eyes that never left his own, eyes that became his undoing in mere minutes. His throat clogged with saliva, and he worries that the warmth on his cheeks would be made visible by the streetlight.
The new sight was appreciated, but it might actually kill him with how much harder it made his heart beat.
"You think it's Instagram worthy?"
"I think anything you'd post would be Instagram worthy."
"Geez what a smooth talker," you laughed, just then, and he wished he could commit the heartwarming sound to memory. "All right, I will."
And you sure did. As soon as he returned to his apartment the first thing he did was check your socials, like your post and save the image. Now, his infatuation with those pretty eyes of yours would be forever engrained into his phone, and he wouldn't have to hide his panting and blushing face and rapid heartbeat anymore.
What a man he was, so easily undone by a miniscule change with you, wasn't he?
