Brilliant bus shelter ad for Mexico’s ANAR Foundation, which works to end child abuse, uses lenticular technology to display a message only children can see.
When viewed from an adult’s eye level, the image appears to be of a healthy child and the text reads: “Sometimes child abuse is only visible to the child suffering it.”
When viewed upwards, from a child’s eye level, the face transforms into one with bruises and the text reads: “If somebody hurts you, phone us and we’ll help you,” along with ANAR’s helpline number.
Brilliant advertising.
“Violence is never, EVER a choice that the man should make.”
Patrick Stewart’s infinitely moving account of how his childhood experience shaped his work on ending domestic violence against women, articulately arguing that this is not a “women’s problem” but, rather, its eradication is up to men. Amidst the epidemic of sexual assault on women in the military, Stewart points out the life-warping manifestations of PTSD across the spectrum of violence.
Please consider supporting Refuge, Stewart’s UK charity against domestic violence, and Joyful Heart Foundation, who do remarkable work to end sexual and domestic violence in the U.S.

Living in the moment
I know I haven't blogged in a very long time, but something really struck me the other day. A friend of mine had hosted a party at a glass blowing studio out in West Roxbury. The deal included a 2 hour demo of glass blowing and one hour of pendants designing which after well cooked are free forte participants to keep.
The whole experience was really amazing! Just to see how creative people got with their pendant designing gave me a thrill. Shaun, the man in the picture and the owner of the studio, was extremely funny with his joke and his natural UK accent. I say UK because I personally couldn't figure out whether it was English, Irish or Scottish.
His passion came up when the glass blowing demo began. He puts in his seven years of experience in every piece he creates. Somebody asked him about the process of glass blowing he said something that just is the title of this post. The glass lives in the moment and so does he. He has to keep rotating the metal rods at a certain speed and adjust it continuously so that the molten glass flows where he wants it to flow. One wrong move or even a stutter could have him start over.
Living in the moment. How many of us spend our days never being in a current moment?

A Perspective
Client: Do you do lemonade?
Me: Do we do… lemonade?
Client: Yes, I was told you do that here.
Me: I’m sorry, this is a graphics and print shop.
Client: I know that. I’m not an idiot.
Me: I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to -
Client: Look If you can’t lemonade these papers for me then I’ll go somewhere else!
Me: Do you mean… laminate?
