some spoopy lab things

I would like to add strange noises in the autoclave as well

I would like to add:

T1 is a phage (bacteria-virus) that isn’t destroyed by drying and is fucking tenacious. If it gets in your lab, it will hang around in your dishes, equipment, walls, ventilation shafts, fume hood, etc. It’s not dangerous to humans, but it will ruin all of your E. coli plates for months or years. Most bacteriologists don’t want phage worked with in their labs, ever, because they’re scared of things like T1. (Practically no one works with it for this reason.) If it contaminates your lab, you have to clean out every surface with bleach, formaldehyde gas, etc. While cleaning out the decades-old freezers in the lab basement, we found a tiny eppendorf tube, entombed in parafilm, inside a sealed plastic bag, inside a falcon tube, which was sealed with parafilm. This falcon tube was labeled in block letters “T1: DO NOT OPEN.”

alright but why use alpha and omega or nobles and peasants when you can just

This is something I had to really think about for a while. Like, my feelings towards people are very similar regardless of gender. Since admiration, aesthetic attraction, and platonic attraction can also be the sort of things that tend to go along with romantic or sexual feelings and because I have sexual and romantic feelings so rarely (and for a long time I didn’t know what being ace was and only had allo friends) when people would describe their feelings towards other people it was either “that sounds fake, but okay” or “I’m pretty sure I’m hetero but that feeling could apply to anyone so maybe not?” But once I learned more about different types of attraction and aceness I was able to sort out things basically. Part of the figuring out my flavor of ace was checking with myself for “Am I analyzing this the way I am because of some sort of internalized prejudice or fear or am I analyzing these feelings genuinely?” But the thing was, I never had and don’t have the sort of “I want to touch that body” feelings about any women that I occasionally do towards men. I never have the sort of “I want to cuddle up with this person and have soft fluffy feelings and pursue an intimate emotional partnership with this person” feelings that I occasionally do with men. I have “I admire this person and want to support them” feelings, “I love the was this person looks and acts and their style” feelings, and “I want to be like this person” feelings of platonic and aesthetic attractions regardless of gender.
