melissa moved to the big city and has a job "in the industry" making commercials. brendon works as a manager for a hipstery coffee shop / video rental store and writes scripts on and off for fun. jason is a relentlessly quirky weirdo who makes money off a bunch of weird side hustles-- right now he's breeding lizards in his garage, among other things. they get together for movie nights now and then, though it's hard for them to agree on what to watch.

and no, actually, this is not USA specific and no, actually, people from other countries should not ignore this post. police violence and sanism weren't invented in the US and they are certainly not unique to here. if you (or anyone) thinks that this bullshit doesn't happen elsewhere then you are not listening.
