Can we talk about Tom Holland in Brand New Day? Because his acting completely shattered me. This is peak Peter Parker suffering, but handled with so much maturity. He is so isolated, so tired, and yet Tom brings this raw, heartbreaking vulnerability to every single frame.
That Aunt May memory scene? Absolutely devastating. It was the perfect emotional anchor for the film, showing that even though she's gone, her influence is the only thing keeping Peter grounded when the entire world has forgotten him.
BUT THE REAL TEARJERKER? PETER AND NED. 😭💔
The way the movie handles their platonic soulmate energy is beautiful and cruel. Doctor Strange’s spell might have wiped Ned’s brain, but it couldn't wipe his body chemistry. Watching Ned's muscle memory kick in during that handshake scene?! The way his hands just knew the rhythm before his brain could even process who Peter was? Wow.
Marvel really perfected the art of the bittersweet ending. 10/10, I am not okay.
