INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (2022 - )

Anyone who has ever struggled with speech can see the scene in the finale of season 2 and recognise that he probably had a speech impediment . The way he is desperately searching for and climbing every word, clinging to it before he moves to the next word. Having to breathe before the next word?

How he has to repeat 'Sssep...ttem-ber-r….e-eeightth…. Nynnne-teen... Sev-vent-ty Two. Sseptember 8th, 1972.' How every word he speaks has an ellipsis in front of it because it is taking every effort to crawl up a mountain, to cling to syllable after syllable and actually make words of it all come out. How he must repeat it because he knows it wasn't perfect the first time.

This is someone who is trying so fucking hard to say what they need to without letting the speech impediment return.

He is controlling the fuck out of this stutter, but just by the strength of someone holding onto a building ledge with a single finger. Like, he's got it-- but it's very, very dicey and he's about to fall at any second.

You can see it most clearly here. But we've seen in before. They absolutely told us before Daniel ever asked that question.
