We got our wedding photos back today and we absolutely love them!

Sheets draped across the floor, wrinkled and stained with what were once brilliant colors, faded now to muddy clouds. Bare feet walked across them like they were a dance floor. Hair bunched up into a messy top-bun, fly-aways clinging to her face and tickling her nose. This was her space. All worries were left outside the walls of this room. A feint smile graced her lips as she picked up a brush. Eyes grazing over her canvas, where would her hands take her to today.. Paint cans were opened, bristles were coated and the canvas began to come to life. Brilliant colors began staining the sheets below her feet, which eventually transferred to the bottoms of her feet as she danced across the floor for more colors and brushes.

Inspiration took her as it often did. Painting faces was always something she enjoyed. Trying to create someone who didn’t exist, it was the impossible task. Every pair of eyes she painted resembled someones gaze she had met with her own. Perhaps that was her curse, regardless she continued to try. 

Relentless in her efforts to create something unknown, hours passed, yet they felt like minutes. The brush rested at her side, feet dried with paint backtracked, putting distance between her and the canvas. She thought it was beautiful, then her gaze met her subjects. Those eyes staring back at her were far too familiar. Then the resemblance hit her. It wasn’t intentional, her inspiration always had a way of playing tricks on her however.

“I stopped seeing you in my dreams.. I was worried I had forgotten what you looked like.” She smiled, one that made mention to her heavy heart as she looked at what she had made. “I’m glad I haven’t.”
