admittedly, this guy was a lot stronger than leon... you could plainly see that in the difference of bicep size, and while that wasn't necessarily a problem, he did feel a little weird ordering the guy to put his strength and weight behind trying to bust the door open... so he refrained. being stuck in a room in the center of the infested raccoon city police station was not how he imagined he'd spend his first day - the zombies alone were not how he'd imagined his first day, but being trapped wasn't on the agenda, either.

he eyes the other with a pique of something akin to curiosity, and he wonders what he was doing here, too - military gear adorned, and leon wasn't exactly surprised there were other militia out there battling through the streets and buildings of raccoon city during this epidemic, but he couldn't put a finger on just group he was a part of. not that it made a difference, really.

that was advice he'd heard several times before, but never quite took to heart... leon's penance with doing things himself was definitely a flaw, but also something he couldn't help. some childhood thing, someone could assume upon learning he lost his parents young, and while taken care of by a system, he still fended from most things by himself. personal preference, maybe, or maybe it was some deep seated thing about trust and dependance.

" me? letting someone else to do my job? " he almost chuckles, but it was hard for leon to laugh most days... his inner demons, and struggles, turmoil, things that kept him relatively too distracted and focused to find joy in much. a sad statement, but unfortunately incredibly honest. however, leon kennedy would look on at grace ashcroft then, a little smile teetering on the corners of his mouth.

he wants to make a joke, but refrains, shaking his head a little in amusement at the idea of the government letting him off the hook. grace did remind him of a younger version of himself... plagued by self-blame, and willing to do anything to save and keep safe. she wanted to help everyone, and unfortunately, leon had learned that not everybody could be helped. a sad fact that kept him up at night, or woke him from light slumbers in the form of night terrors, and nightmares.
