The more I think about the idea of Sid with a motorcycle (one he didn't unknowingly buy with a nearly dead guy's money), the more I want the following scene as the intro to an episode:
A motorcycle cruises smoothly along curving roads, lush greenery behind. The driver can't be clearly identified, but there's a James Dean air to their blue jeans, leather jacket, and wind-blown hair. After a moment, a dark car is seen coming up behind the rider. It follows for a moment, not crowding the bike but clearly interested in it. The identity of the man behind the wheel is also a mystery, but the brief flash of an elbow and shoulder in the open window reveals a blue suit.
The motorcyclist glances back, then hunkers down over the handlebars and speeds up. The car keeps pace. Is the motorcyclist a wanted man? Is the driver of the car about to commit murder? Around here, either is a very real possibility.
As they drop out of the hills and into open fields, a siren sounds, revealing the car to be a plainclothes police vehicle. The motorcycle pulls up at a wide spot on the gravel shoulder. Its rider, his face still turned away, is seen pulling off a pair of leather gloves that look too soft to be a stereotypical motorcycling glove. If anything, they're more like something a chauffeur would wear. He finally looks up as crunching footsteps announce the arrival of the policeman. He smirks. "Fancy seeing you around here."
The camera switches to a close up of Sullivan, who doesn't even seem to be trying to hide his return smile. "I could say the same to you."
Back to Sid. "Fair enough, these days." His eyebrows quirk playfully. "...Fancy a chase? For old times sake?"
"Did not. I never sped once. Knew it was you back there. Actually...why DID you pull me over?"
"Aww, and I didn't even know what we were doing."
"Don't lament it yet. I'm here on a case. And..." Sullivan winces slightly. "I'm going to need Father Brown's help."
Sid laughs, delighted. "Well, you know where to find him."
"Yes. I do. But I'll follow you there, anyway."
The motorcycle is seen pulling back onto the road, followed by the car. The camera pans to follow them, revealing a familiar church tower rising above a low village. At the side of the road stands a sign that reads 'Kembleford.'
The scene fades into the show's opening.
