I sometimes wonder what Sid and Felicia got up to in Rhodesia when she wasn’t stuck at the embassy furthering Monty’s career

Somehow, Sid dies in a tragic accident and it completely devastates Lady Felicia, who takes to her bed and won’t see anyone. One night she wakes up and it’s as though she can sense Sid, smell his aftershave, and the warmth of him, like when he held her those times she was afraid and he protected her. She falls asleep again, crying. A couple of months later she finds out she’s pregnant, but genuinely has no idea how as she hadn’t slept with anyone for quite a long time. Months pass and she gives birth to a little boy who as he grows, according to Father Brown, is the spitting image of Sid. She loves him completely and he fills the hole in her heart she’d always been trying to fill.

Monty has suffered a sudden and unexpected death. Sid and Mrs M return for the funeral to comfort and support Lady Felicia in her hour of need. Mrs M returns to Ireland afterwards, but Sid stays to take care of her. He eventually confesses his feelings for her and is surprised to find out that she has always felt the same for him too.
