A grave and common mistake one could make is to listen and believe what a pastor or a priest has to say about their own religion over a person who has a degree in religious studies who has actually read/researched about not just one but all or many religions.

The only time I feel glad about living in a very small house is when it's time to do some cleaning. Someone once said to me that it's a perk of owning a small house. I still wish I have a bigger house, though, not gonna lie.

Since ICE have ramped up their operation, particularly in blue states, brown people (and even some yellow people) are now starting to know what black people feel whenever they go out on the streets: the fear and anxiety about being stopped and questioned by authorities out of the blue as they go about minding their own business.

I've always wondered why people who are willing to die for their country (re martyrdom) are painted in a more negative light than people who are willing to kill for their [imperialist/invasive/supremacist] country.

It is kind of sad that the inspiration or primary incentive that drove man to go and explore space is ego (read: cold war, geopolitics), and not curiosity and actual desire for knowledge.

You must be naive and simple-minded if you think/believe that war is about good vs evil, especially in this century.

Them (paraphrased): There's no way he's racist. He's married to a Filipina (Asian). <gestures at their face> Me: There have been men who married women who turn out to be gay, so I can't see why you can't find it possible for a racist to marry someone outside of their own race.

You're working for a Fortune 500 company that announces record-breaking financial growth each year (in terms of revenue and profit) but you don’t feel like you’re working for a Fortune 500 company because the company doesn't fairly compensate their employees, especially the rank-and-file.

My fear of failing is far greater than my desire and desperation to get myself out of living in poverty. And for that, I am doomed to live an unhappy and unaccomplished/unsuccessful life.

Only time I feel glad or am relieved not being a tall person (above 6 ft [1.8m]) is when I'm an airline passenger.
