Haven’t been on here in a while. And im sure about half a person is gonna see this anyway and not read a word I write but I need to say what I’m going to say about the Kreider trade.

Trading him makes sense. From a business and cap and league standpoint, it was a smart move to offload his salary, especially after last season when the team proved we clearly needed a change. I’m all for the front office having extra cap to play with… as long as it benefits the team in the long run. If Drury goes out and signs 3 vets who haven’t touched the playoffs in 5 years(again), then I’m going to have an even bigger problem. If he has a great offseason and goes out and signs/trades for big players that will make an impact on the team with that extra money, then great! I still won’t be completely happy but at least it won’t be as bad?

However, as someone who has spent her entire life basically looking up to Chris Kreider as someone who will lead the Rangers to success… heartbroken doesn’t even cover it. Ive always considered Kreider to be one of my favorite players and after 2018 he became my favorite Ranger. He was someone who no matter how bad the Rangers were at the time I always looked forward to watching him play. I loved seeing what he did off the ice for the community. I loved watching his post game media availability. And of course I just love watching him play hockey but the other things he did made my love for him grow each season. The pain I felt when we traded him was a pain I genuinely haven’t felt since we traded away McDonagh and Miller in 2018. Kreids was supposed to be a Rangers lifer. We all thought he would retire in New York and maybe even get his number retired at the Garden someday.

But now the reality is that this won’t happen. There’s two years left on his contract and who knows what will happen then? The chances of him returning to New York after those two years is slim and if the Rangers want to keep having deep playoff runs and hopefully one day win the cup, they aren’t going to bring him back(despite the fact that he’s been one of our best playoff performers in franchise history, it just won’t happen). If I’m wrong, and I hope I will be, then I will gladly eat my words but I sincerely doubt that he ever plays as a Blueshirt again.

With all of that being said, thank you Chris Kreider. For everything you’ve given this city over the past 13 years. Despite what many fans say, we needed you. CK20 forever.

i think the hbo war casting in general but especially the band of brothers casting is insane because think about it. they're making a tv show about you and your buddies 60 years ago, and some random people you don't actually know are choosing a 20-30 year old hollywood or even british actor to play yourself at like 21 while you were at war, and sometimes they go off your appearance at the time, sometimes not so much. like its crazy cause there's some eerie similarities (notably, ron livingston's case), but also - do you guys think real don malarkey came into that set and scratched his head after realizing scott grimes was supposed to be him. do you think real ronald speirs cheered after seeing matthew settle's full head of luscious hair aware of the fact he was already balding during the war. i think about real dick winters being upset that damian lewis was redheaded skinny and british all the time
