Keen Likes To Make Stuff

There are a few places that are truly important to me, Oakledge is on that list. Some times when Im unhappy with what my life is like I close my eyes and retrace the grounds of Oakledge. The entrance, the dining hall, the Ishkitini, the green gnome (gah-no-mi), the pavilion, the pool, the swamp, echo rock, timberland, hydeman house, the lats, scatterball, c time. I cant even to start to list all the things that are important to me about this camp. I want to sleep in a permatent again, swim in the lake, play chess at c time, hike to Elmer’s Cove, play scatterball even though im terrible at it. This camp is old and full of stories and beauty, and it has sat vacant for two years which breaks my heart. The counselors who are loyal to it are graduating, fewer and fewer campers had a chance to go. My home is dying and i cant bare it. I truly wish with all my being that it returns this summer. I miss it so.
