“I feel as if I’m drunk on love, rather than alcohol,” the pianist said, staring Vance in the eye, but really only looking through him. “I am drunk on the rain. The pounding of the rain on the windows has my gut running with the most pleasurable feeling, and I can not bring myself to interrupt its one-note tune.” He spun in a circle and leaped closer to Vance, messily, but in a way that Vance himself had jumped onto the windowsill. "I am drunk on you," Vance whispered to himself, watching the pianist spin around as a dancer would, tips of toes pointed and fingers dancing elegantly through the air. He turned to the window and began dancing towards it, and Vance watched the rain's song dig through the pianist's skin. He itched to reach out and pull the pianist along with him to dance to the rain as Vance danced to the piano.
